Looking for some switch help on my first couple of builds please...

Howdy folks,

So to assist me in not spending money on new devices, I'm going to try my hand at making a few. I'm a pretty handy guy, work with wood and jewelry, so no intimidation here, but this will be a whole new arena.

My first few attempts will be a couple of flashlight mods and a couple of copper mods. I've read all I can stand to read as everything is beginning to be a repeat of previous information. But I have a question about switches that comes from inexperience.

We've all seen the little switches from radio shack that are used to fire the mods. They do the job, but to me, they tend to subtract from the overall look of an otherwise impressive bit of work. I would like to use a different...unobtrusive switch that is available without tearing apart an existing device. Could someone point me in the right direction? Or maybe make a suggestion?

that switch is the one i always use it has a nice look and feel to it. a little obtrusive i guess but it looks nice, and i have seen plenty of bigger switches. if your looking for small maybe some sort of touch switch or tactile. they are a little trickier to wire in i do believe,never tried though

the smaller tact switches cannot handle current...you need a mosfet or use it with a regulator that has an inhibit pin...the horn style that was linked is a good switch...you can also look at digikey...they have switches galore but shipping is kinda prohibitive unless ya order at least 20 of em...

I just happen to have 4 of those switches that I got from MV a month ago when I knew I would have to build something, but in colors, no chrome, lol. So a green one has been mounted up. Hoping to finish the project tomorrow or the next day ( i only get a short time everyday to work on it and do the next thing on it ) and then I will post a few pics for some suggestion on things to do different.
