Fellow vapers, I'm searching for a quality, 14500 or 14650 mechanical mod that also looks the part (think Caravela in a smaller form factor), and wanted to know what choices I have.

The ones I've recently checked out are the Precise Simplicity, Temon, GP Piccolo and Ba Gua. Pictures, reviews and links are more than welcome.

I have 3/4 of these baguas are gorgeous.. But stiff switch and I mean stiff, have the spring setup on the way and will eventually go find magnets or a switch to my liking, but result is the same it requires some tinkering to be perfect. Precise simplicity is nice, to me more of my daily beater mod lol looks great very durable, spring is too soft (easily fixed by stretchong the spring a little bit so you can set it down with a Genny atop) lock switch goes on forever on it but a solid mod. Temon hybrid.... Got mine in satin, switch is perfection, locking ring 1-2 full turns all threads buttery smooth, silver plated contacts this thing is gorgeous, only problem is... I am no good at setting up genesis attys yet but I do love this mod... My vote is to the temon for best overall. Cannot speak to the piccolo but have seen people love them, so worth checking into prior to purchasing any

Forgot to add this in are you looking for 16mm/17mm? Penelope sized or spheroid etc. Bagua 17mm rest 16mm also check out the merte by hc designs 17mm with airflow control regularly in stock as well

Thanks for the detailed response Coffin. I was looking at the Piccolo but it was only available in bead blasted finish, which makes it look like it's spray painted in matte gray - no my cup of tea. If GP had a polished or brushed finish units, I'd try it out, but that was the last batch as they're working on a new 14500 mod and don't know when it will be offered.

Of the ones I've seen, the Ba Gua looks the best, but I've also read about issues with the button. Temon I'm not crazy about, while the Precise Simplicity is much taller than the Korean mod, plus those grooves look like PITA if you want to keep it clean and polished.

I plan on using GP Spheroid, Penelope and the ET Vision (not bad for its price, may I add). I'd prefer a 16mm one, but I would look at 17mm too if it looks good.

Penelope is 17mm, looks off on a 16mm device kinda here it is on a precise simplicityIMG_20130806_155827.jpg
Also, a side by side of the 3 I have (bagua in both forms only switched locking rings presentlyIMG_20130806_155547.jpg
Also, worth noting bagua if you choose it only takes 14500 AW IMR or efest flat top due to strict battery tolerances. I've never tested this myself but it has been encountered. Bagua has straight brass contacts, precise is palladium plated for durability. The precise marks up far less, I've never polished it or anything unlike the bagua which shows everything which is why it's my mod of choice at work etc. It's just so durable I've dropped it, so many times etc. and not a single mark. When I started my search for a solid 14500 mod I for some reason thought the piccolo was discontinued which is why I never hunted one down. Seems you've done your research and if I recall correctly polished and satin piccolo's are coming in the next week or two. I can't say which is better of these three as I love them all for different reasons. Just checked the HC Designs Mert, they have special editions in stock along with the regular mod, worth checking out but be sure to watch the review first as there is issues with a wobbly button to be sure you'd be fine with that.

the piccolo v3 is 17mm at the top, 16mm in the middle and 17mm at the bottom (i think), kind of a hour glass look. looks great. i have a brushed one that i use with penelope, i had a spheroid but i couldnt get it to hit very hard and im moving towards more sub ohm vaping so it would work well for that either. even now i dont use piccolo anymore because 14500 batts are not good for sub ohm vaping unless they make a 14500 batt that is and im unaware about it. the upside is they are pocket friendly and tiny and dont look like you sucking on a light saber in public.
