I've been lurking around the forums for a while. Did a decent amount of reading months ago and stuck with analogs after getting frustrated with the confusion. I'm back and wanting to dive in and make it stick this time. Both my wife and I will be trying to kick the habit.

After everything I've read, I am thinking of going with the Elite 808. I know I can't find EXACTLY the same taste as a real smoke, but I'm trying to find as close to Marlboro Lights as I can for her. I think as she vapes over time, she will come to like the assorted flavors (she occasional smokes some CAO Eileens Dream cigarillos), but out of the gate, she needs something to mimic a cigarette, I think, for it to be successful. Me, I think I want something methol. I used to smoke Marlboro Menthol, Camel Turkish Jade, Newport, Marlboro Medium/Lights ... so I've run the gamut.

My only concern with the 808 is the tip. I have a feeling it will be a bit off putting to my wife. May have to see what is compatible ...

As far as smoking habit, I go all day long without smoking a bit. 6am to 6pm not even craving a smoke. When I settle down at night and maybe have a nightcap, thats when the smoking starts. And once I start, its chimney time. I'll polish off a pack between 8pm and 12am. So, long battery life is not really a concern for me. My wife's battery needs may be a little different. I could see her smoking an equivalent cigarette at 7:30am, one or two at noon and then smoking five or six between 5 and bedtime.

So, am I even close to being on a good track here? Considering my needs, am I looking at the right model? Also, with the smokes listed above, who is your recommendation for juice. I know there are threads on that somewhat, but I am asking for the few smokes listed specifically above. I'll experiment with fruits and the rest later, I just want to have as high a chance of sticking to it as possible.

Thank you very much.

With all that being said, I am looking at buying from cigeasy.com. Should I be buying additional accessories? Chargers? batteries?

First of all, in my opinion you should consider something with 510 connection, since atomisers, cartomisers and other accessories are easier to find with a 510 connection than 808. An EGO battery would also be cheaper than the one you were looking at. For the two of you, you would probably need 4 batteries, just to be comfortable and never have to deal with an empty battery, and the angst you get when you are waiting for battery to recharge :p.
So 4 ego batteries, and 2 chargers would get your battery side sorted. Then just add some cartomisers, 510 drip tips and eliquid, and you are set.

I think any cig a like kit with a personal charging case would suit your needs to begin with - then its easier to decide upon the next step up when you're settled with the vaping experience. The next step up would have to be something with a 510 connection to give you the widest choice in kit in my opinion. Good luck!!

The eGo's are nice..but what I like even better is the IGO...because it's 808 threaded...so it's easy peasy for us 808 fans..and higher capacity..you can get the whole set-up for like 35 bucks...2 batts at 900 mAh and the whole shmear..pretty good price for capacity and battery life...:toast: IGO Electronic Cigarette Kit - Complete - from VFast

Yeah...usually user error...I mention the IGO because you seem to prefer the 808's Nhaler has the IGO's too...but the price there was like 50 something dollars. I started with Blu which is a smaller 510-ish connection...if I had known about IGO's back then I never would have bought a smaller ecig...eventually everyone upgrades in my opinion.....There are alot of vendors out there...I just find that the prices are most reasonable at Tropical Vapors...do a comparison..I'm sure you'll agree...lots of neat stuff there..and he always has sales!!:toast:
Thanks for all the great replies. Talking to a guy at work, the only complaint he had about the ecigs, and what ultimately led him back to analogs was the liquid running in to the mouthpiece. I'm assuming this was due to something he did or a crappy mall kiosk ecig?

Check out the KGO! It runs at 1100Mah and is a very popular eGo Clone! You should look at a lot of youtube reviews and read up on the one eGo variant you decide is best for you and your significant other! I decided on the KGO due to the 1100Mah (more Mah or Battery life) and the price for the starter kit! you can pick them up through either Northwest Vapors or Hoosier e-Cig Supply! I bought mine from the former but both have great reputation in the Vape Community! Good Luck and Happy Vaping!

I'm loving mine on day one. I think if you feel the need, the volt you ordered and a kgo are a nice combo.

The Volt arrived today. Great packaging and a personal note on the receipt. Kind of nice.

So, I have two batteries, two usb chargers, one wall plug, five cartos with cowboy in them and five blanks. I made the mistake of not ordering juice when I placed the initial order ( I have since) so I'm a bit hesitant to start using the Volt until the juice arrives. Maybe it sounds silly, but I don't want to vape and then go back to smoking analogs until more juice arrives. I wish there was some local place that sold the cartos for the Volt!

I'm really excited to see how my wife takes to the Volt. We've been wanting to take the step together and the time is finally here.

Well, I couldn't wait until the other juice arrived. I had to give this thing a try. I gave an assembled Volt to my wife and told her how to use it. She took in a small drag, puffed out the vapor and said, "Oh my god is that smoke?" :D She didn't realize there would be visible vapor. See, we haven't smoked in this house or the apartment we lived in six years ago. She didn't want to start now. Cute.

We got the Volt Cowboy flavor cartos 18mg to start. I think they are a little heavy for her. They hit a bit harder than I was expecting too, but I have to say, this is going to go great with a few cold ones tonight. I can't wait for the rest of the juice to show up! I'm going to try and stay on the Volt all weekend and make it until the juice shows up. I'd love to be able to say that yesterday was my last analog.

Buy two Ego Twist "replacement batteries", a charger, and get yourself a couple of Vision Vivi Novas and a length of wick and nichrome wire. Sure the learning curve'd be a bit steep but you'd save so much money in the long run it'd cost you about 15 cents a day to vape if you were making your own DIY Ejuice.

If you want to make it easier and work your way up then get the ego twist batteries with the charger and then pop on some Smoktech or Boge Cartomizers. Stardusts might be a good way to go too (the Vision Clearomizer). Of course unless you know how to clean them you'll be throwing them away all the time and it will get expensive. Especially on commercial juice. Click on my name and read my blog if you want some more advanced information on this topic.

here's a readout of what resistances you should be going for with which voltage in case you take my advice and get an ego twist.
