I spent 55 years inhaling a pack a day of 4000 different chemicals. vaping enabled me to stop doing that. I don't believe the manufacturers of the ejuice that saved my life used would have used food grade PG or VG to make their juice. So, neither will I.
I won't try to save a few bucks by using the wrong stuff to make my own vape and the vape I share with my friends and family.
Sorry.. thats just my opinion.

Thanks for the replies.

How exactly can you tell if it's high quality? I know that being clear is good. Is there a smell or taste test?

I'm also a little confused as to why the bottle says both food grade and USP. I'm guessing that it's USP quality, but they print "food grade" for marketing purposes (since if it's USP, it's even purer than food grade). Can anyone confirm this?

thanks!

If you are asking about the Essential Depot PG, yes it is marked as: USP-Kosher-Food Grade. I have a gallon of the PG from them and it says on it: USP, Kosher, Food Grade and in the finer print says "for preparation of e-cigarette liquid and as moisturizer in medicines, cosmetics, food, toothpaste, shampoo, mouth wash, hair care and tobacco products".

You'll know immediately by the taste. Bad PG is bitter and has a chemical like taste. So far I haven't tasted a bad VG. Every brand I've tried has been pleasantly sweet.

Hey everyone, OP here =)

I tried out the essential depot PG and VG today. I noticed the VG has a pleasant sweet taste, but doesn't provide much vapor, while the PG tastes bad but provides an awesome amount of vapor and wicks well.

The PG is very bitter and when smoked tastes funky, no way can I vape it. I'm not sure if it's essential depots PG or PG in general that tastes this way.

I tried thinning out VG with a tiny bit of distilled water, but I got absolutely NO vapor doing that =/

My ideal "base" would be something with the flavor of VG, but with the vaping properties of PG. I'm thinking I should purchase some PG from somewhere else and try a mix with my VG, any recommendations?

Thanks!

It has been MY experience that VG gives me loads of vapor and a pleasant taste. Something must be wrong with your PG and VG. Most of the juice I make is 70% or 80% VG, with the rest being flavoring. Personally, I wouldn't use anything from a tractor supply or Amazon or even CVS or Walmart. I use only VG and PG from a lab that I trust, namely wizard labs
