Hi! I have been vaping for about 3 months now and I am right there with you on the DIY. I have been reading everything I can so that hopefully I get it right the first time. I haven't placed my order yet but I will soon. The one thing I have been trying to find info on but can't seem to find much is sweetness. I really like the sweet fruity liquids and I have read that the PV provides sweetness but I also have seen that you can add sucralose. The problem is that I haven't really seen any lengthy discussions about adding something like that or seen any recipes with sweetener in them. I came here to see if I could find some talk about that and registered, then found out I had to post here before anywhere else and well....I haven't made it out of here yet. lol When I saw your post had something to do with making your own juice I figured this was as good a place as any to jump in. I'm so excited about making my own it's been tough to make myself wait until I am completely informed before I spend my money ordering supplies. :D

Get some koolada to mix with the menthol. It gives it an "ice" effect. I prefer it to straight menthol. I was using 20% menthol, now I've cut back to 15% and 1 drop of koolada per mil. A little goes a long way, although on my next batch, I think I'll go up to 1.5 drops per mil, call me reckless...

You can get menthol drops and add them to any other flavor or just add them to unflavored for a straight menthol vape. It's best to start with very little and then adjust upwards as needed.

Try some flavors without adding sweetener first. I don't know yet whether the maker adds a sweetener or not but the sample size Nature's Flavor fruit flavors I got from High Desert Vapes definitely do have some sweetness already. I suspect that whichever brand flavorings you get, most probably don't need added sweetener unless you're looking for a lot of sweetness. Check some of the recipe threads, you can probably get a better sense of what other people are doing as far as adding sweeteners.

I wouldn't worry too much about adding sweetness since, imo, my prob is getting it out... Just seems to me that most recipes end up being too sweet without adding anything to sweeten them up. But, in case you are looking, check out http://www.ecigexpress.com/diy-flavoring-c-16 as they've got what you're looking for plus tons of diff flavors and, if I remember, a selection of diff menthols and 'ice' style additives...

Diy is a great choice! I bought my juice from a local for over a year and in that year the quality only went down, so I decided I would do it myself. I couldn't be happier with my decision. Before diy, I was into the more fruit based flavors and menthols, but since diy, I really do enjoy the more richer flavors and tobacco based flavors. There is a serious learning curve involved with diy and research is a great start, but that is only going to get you so far. Your personal preference can only be decided by you, the vg, pg, nic, and flavor supplier will have a lot to do with the mixing percentage. Normally 12-20% is a good base, but where you will end might be completely different. I hope you the best and if there is anything I can help with, just say the words.

I saw a u tube video and this guy used stevia to go its an all natural sweetener not a chem like he others so i figured i would try it in so mix i already had i put 1 drop in a 10ml bottle of french van deluxe just to try wow it completely change it made it taste just like breyers french van that being said it really didnt help the bubble gum so if u try it go small
