I am looking to purchase my first VV but I cant decide between the Provari or the Darwin. I like the way they both look and from what I hear, they are the two best options in the VV world. Another reason I narrowed it down to these two is encase I ever need to sell them, it seems like they have no problem holding their value unlike some other mods that are a dime a dozen.

Please help me with this decision because I can't decide on my own. I would like to learn some pros and cons I don't already know about each device.

*Disclaimer* I do not want a Lava Tube. I understand I can purchase 3 of them for the price of either one of these mods. If I wanted 3 LT's, I would have already purchased them. The LT will not achieve what I'm looking for (low res dual coil carts at 5v.)

Why would you post this and why do you think anyone would recommend a LT when you're asking about other devices?..seems like you have an ulterior motive for posting that (just like your post in the other thread)..it seems aimed at putting down the LT.

BTW you might get to 5v with a low resistance ohm dual coil but not much further on 3.5a..5.25v at 1.5ohms is 3.5a..these boosted circuit devices are not really meant for low ohm and it's not needed. Plus at the volts you're talking about with a dual coil battery life won't be great.

Stacked battery VV's can offer higher amp limits and better battery life (although I'm not big on them). From my experience dual coils are mostly hype though as my single coil 2.5ohm CE2's put out as much vapor as a DC 1.5ohm. I won't even go into the melted things in poly filled cartomizers I have seen in a DC from an eGo let alone 5v..you probably would get more out of single coils on a Provari or Darwin...

Nope. Sorry. No ulterior motive here. Just that I've seen it happen in other threads. I don't feel the need to put down anything I haven't used. Just stating facts here my friend. I've seen the LT fail to handle fail to handle dual coil carts in one to many videos. One of these instances happening to someone I trust very much (Grimm Green). By the way, you should check out his LT review video. Very informative.

By the way, I haven't come across any single coil standard ohm cart produce the amount of vapor that my dual coil low res cart from V4L produces. I use both Boge and Kanger Horizontals (both of which are very nice carts). Also, I;m not the only one who thinks dual coil carts produce more vapor. I've seen plenty of reviews from very reputable people in the vaping world agree. If you think otherwise then great. Looks like you will be saving some battery power.:D It appears I will be using more battery power because I think the dual coils rock even at 3.7 volts. I can't wait to get them going at a steady 5 volts.

In the end though man, I don't mean to dis the LT. It looks like a decent mod. I just happen to see many video reviews of people comparing the Provari vs. LT and most all of them say the Provari is a much better device. Don't shoot the messenger. I'm sure the LT will be better with it's new version coming out. Although, you will still be supporting another country besides the great USofA.

If you're looking to run dual coils at 14+ watts(which is what it sounds like) then I'd say Provari. The Darwin has a maximum power output of 12.7 watts, which would be about 4.3 to 4.4 volts on a 1.5 ohm dual coil. This is enough to satisfy me when I'm using dual coils, but it isn't outstanding.

It sounds like you're also probably a tank user - in which case I'd definitely recommend the Provari.

I do own a Provari V2, a Mini Provari V2 and a Darwin and love all 3 of them, but I think the Provari would be a better fit for you.

You do realize that a 1.5ohm DC carto at 5v would be putting out the same as a 3ohm single and use more amps doing so don't you? I know from personal side by side tests a DC 1.5 didn't put out anymore vapor or flavor than a single 2.5ohm CE2 with the same juice and same batteries.

IDK if 100% of the Provari is made in the US of A because it says Made in America and that label doesn't mean every part is made here nor does it mean 100% made in the USA..that label can mean anything from assembled anywhere in North or South America to a percentage of parts made somewhere in N/S America..I'm sure it is assembled here though. I looked on there site for anything that said everything in the device is made in the USA..you would think they would list that.

You would also think they would lower the cost after there initial run when there costs went down..also you would think they would offer another similar VV tube with +/- buttons. BTW I have seen a lot of videos including the ones you reference..also I have read tons about all these subjects.

I have the free money to buy a Provari also yet choose to not do so. You chose to come in here asking about 2 devices and felt the need to reference a 3rd device that you weren't even thinking of buying before anyone posted anything about it and that says ulterior motive to me..otherwise I probably wouldn't have posted anything here...

I posted the disclaimer, yet you still felt the need to come in here and rant about the LT. Just leave it alone man. It can't do what I'm looking for and I explained what I am looking for as clear as day. My ulterior motive was to keep people like you out of this thread. I don't want to hear what your special Lava Tube can do. I just don't care. You see, I also have the money for a Provari. I could have purchased the LT whenever. I held off because of it's inherent flaws. That and the fact I've always been a believer of you get what you pay for. It's exactly the reason why I just purchased a 59" Samsung Series 8 Plasma and not a Vizio.

Anyway, I'm done arguing. Off to order my Provari. I'll be back to let you all know how much I like it.

The fact is if you didn't post said "disclaimer" I wouldn't have posted a thing about it..once you posted about the "LT" "disclaimer" I felt the need to respond to it. The "disclaimer" brought the LT into the discussion and now you're posting further about it and putting it down in a thread you posted just like you did in your "disclaimer". I also believe in "you get what you pay for" but not blindly because sometimes things are not made well and they stick a label/high price on them or they charge too much because of a name...

Like I said before, I am not knocking the LT. I a simply stating scenarios that it isn't capable of but the Provari is. It is just a fact man. I'm not trying to make .... up. Yes, you are right. Sometimes , when things aren't made well they still try to slap a high sticker price on the item. I made sure this wasn't one of those times with the hundreds upon hundreds of reviews I've read.

The 1st version Provari is similar as the 1st version LT in the limit. I think the Provari is decently made I think it's just hyped a bit for the price..I wouldn't have much argument if they sold for under $100 (just the device) except the 1 button/waiting menu thing. If you really want to drive DC's at low ohms the Provari will work to a point but stacked batteries would do it better in battery life and amp limit..but some stacked battery devices they over limit.

If you stacked 2 high drain batteries and put a circuit/switch that could handle it you could have over 10a..maybe 20a depending on the batteries..then you could drive triple coils or all DC's in any resistance up to the point of melting the coils if you didn't put in an ohm limit for each ohms..although I feel personally DC and all this voltage (over 9w for a single coil..you could drive 2 coils up to 9w each but that's a lot of heat inside a cartomizer the same size as a single coil one..basically people are driving 2 coils to about half each what they would a single and getting about the same heat output less efficiently) is mostly overkill/hype.

Get over it chrispy. I think youve beaten this lava tube thing to death.

Id go with the provari. It can put out more wattage.

If people bring up the LT in this board and I feel the need to comment on it I will..I think people have beat to death the Provari thing..one of the reasons I felt the need to post in this whole debate in the 1st place..I don't give up easy I spent years on a game forum arguing about a game I liked. I let some things slide sometimes but if people want me to stop the arguments then don't feed it by constantly dissing the LT in favor of the Provari.

BTW he already said he was getting a Provari "Off to order my Provari."..I think he already decided that when he posted this thread probably...

Wow. Alright, the guy posted his reasoning for not wanting the LT, but you see it as some perceived slight and have to jump into the discussion. Everyone around the forums is well acquainted with your opinions on the subject. If you didn't have anything productive to contribute to his question which involved the provari and darwin, you shouldn't have posted.

To the OP - I would echo what previous posters have said about the provari, it will allow you to push a bit more power to LR DC cartos. As a disclaimer, I've never used a darwin, and DC cartos aren't really my thing either (although I haven't given em a fair shake on a VV mod), but for what you're looking for, the provari should do the job. It's also a bit easier to get your hands on one from what I've seen, compared to the darwin.

He shouldn't have posted the "disclaimer" about the "LT" bringing it into the debate..this thread is irreverent anyways now because he is buying a Provari..I jumped into a discussion where the OP posted about the "LT" with an opinion in his "disclaimer" when he just could have easily not commented on the device at all and said he only wanted to talk the other 2 devices.

Yet he felt the need to give an opinion on it and try to stop others from posting there own rebuttal.."you can't have your cake and eat it too"..if there was no mention of the LT there would be no argument from me...

The Provari is an awesome solid mod, that does not drop voltage under load. It's been my daily vape for over a year without any mechanical issues! If youre looking for something that handles high amps and you dont need a display...I've been eyeballing the Sabre Touch VV HV...it handles up to 20amps and its built like a tank!

I'm new here but I am not new to forums. Every forum I've ever spent time in has always had someone like you. Someone who makes assumptions but makes them sound like facts. Someone who takes it personal when his possession isn't liked by someone else. Someone who always feels the need to justify their purchase.

Dude, I think everyone here realizes you think the LT is the best VV in the world. Great, good for you. Others don't think so and you're not going to talk them into thinking its the best VV in the world.

You can give your opinions all day long but what's fact is fact and nothing changes fact. It's a fact that the Provari is a better built mod, its a fact the Provari can handle more watts.

Oh and by the way, I did not have my mind made up when I started this thread. My mind was made up after I saw that I would have had to wait for the Darwin to become available. It's out of stock with a waiting A.

You came in this board and started off by putting down the LT "pot calling the kettle black" much?..seems to me you came in here looking for an argument and I gave you one..My LT does what I need it to and I like it so much I'm buying more and I made my mind up over a month ago I would own at least another one so exactly how am I trying to justify buying it?..sounds more like you're trying to justify paying over $200 for 1 e cig to me.

I never even said the LT is the best in the world but neither is the Provari..I could careless if people like it or not I like it..I'm posting here because I got sick of some Provari owners and some of them are posting misinformation..enjoy paying twice what something should cost..everything on there site is overpriced.

I mean $50 more for a $10 charger (you can get chargers that are decent as low at $7) 2 batteries (should be $8 each) a $10 pack of cartomizers and a $5 drip tip..what a deal in a kit..why don't you add in a $8.50 atomizer that costs $5 on other sites and you will have a really good deal. You would think after they got you so much for the device they would at least give you a deal on a kit but no and trust me all that stuff that comes in the kit isn't "Made in America"...

A while back I was trying to make the same decision. Both are good units. I ended up getting the Provari because the Darwin is almost always out of stock. I plan on getting a Darwin in the near future for work. Being that the Darwin is more pocket friendly. I'm very happy with my Provari and would buy another one if something happened to it.

Chrispy, please read the quotes above, particularly the bold.

He wants a device that will drive a dual coil at 5v. The LT will not do that. Hell, the ProVari may not hit 5v, but it will get closer than the LT with it's 2.5A limit (I've run a DC on the ProVari at 4.9v). You jumped all over this guy for trying to keep LT suggestions out of the thread because he already did the research and knows, 100%, that the LT will not do what he needs his vaporizer to do. I guarantee it wasn't a personal jab.
