Hello,

I just started vaping with an eGo Passthrough from Empiremods.com and I've come to the point where I want to start getting into dripping. I just need some questions answered if you guys would be so kind :p. Really only looking forward to buying one atty and see how I feel about dripping and if it's something I will start to do. I want to be able to test flavors without filling a tank every time. I want to be able to vape it and if I enjoy it comit it to a tank system.

1. 306, 510 atty: Which one to use, bridge or bridgeless, and do I need an adaptor?

2. Drip Shield: Needed?

3. Cleaning: How would I switch out flavors? I've seen some videos and some people just blow the juice out and others go through whole cleaning processes.

Thanks guys.

Edit: If you need any links to what I have, just tell me.

Rogan, the best dripping atty I've used is the HH 357 from avidvaper.com. For dripping you want a bridgeless atomizer. The Cisco spec 510 atomizers are pretty good from there.
Drip shields are nice but not by any means a necessity. I own one but never use it. To clean them, depending on if I'm ok with a little bit of flavor overlap or not, I'll just blow out the flavor from the old one with a rolled up paper towel in it til there's no more liquid coming out. Or if you don't want any of the old flavor you can soak them in Voldka overnight and then wash em out with water and blow the water out I to a paper towel. Look up some YouTube videos of cleaning atomizers. There's some good info there.
Dripping is great. Some of the best vtf I've had.

no dont waste your money not trying to be rude but buy an rda style atty they are the new way to drip they also are known to produce the most potent flavors with the most vapor also as a plus most people at kiosks use them for the wow factor and the ease and clean taste when customers want to sample flavors think of it this way a custom made heat coil

Hi

Can you explain what is this "Bridge or Bridgeless " thingy ?

Thanks

Still new to vaping, reading off of empiremods's website they say it's a 510 connection so I'm assuming I'll be okay. I'm not looking to spend too much on an atty so I wanna buy a standard bridge free one just to see if I would enjoy the dripping experience. Thanks for the post, keep em coming please.

Well Keith at Empiremods is an old school dripper, so you are already using the site that can set you up.

Which atty you will like best is as subjective as which juice you will like best (so don't listen to me cuz I'll get you all screwed up)
The only way you will ever know which atty you like best is to try several, and decide for yourself.

I modify LR 510-T atties for dripping, and use A7 Mini RDA's.

I started that thread for people just like you. There was some idle chatter in the middle of the thread, but just about any question you have should be covered in its pages.
Thanks, been reading through it but I still have one question.

My eGo Passthrough 900Mah: I'm just assuming all I need is a 510 atty with a drip tip and maybe a drip shield? No adaptors? I'm sorry for such a simple question (for you atleast) but I'm just having trouble finding it everything would be compatible.

    Thanks.

If using a drip shield, you will need a 510-510 adapter simply so the drip tip will actually go into the atty--it needs to be raised by the adapter.

Can I ask, why do you want bridgless?

I bought two that I think are bridged.. they have a little mesh arc above the coil. Ive been dripping with OK results. Floods/burns easily. Maybe because Im not using bridgless?

Can someone explain the benefits/pitfalls of the two types for dripping?

    Thanks!@

It really depends, but the bridge is really just a leftover artifact from the days of carts. That said, I find my favorite attys have bridges and they seem to hold up better to dry burns and seem to be more sturdy over all. Bridgeless attys seem to flood easier/leak (unless used with a drip shield) and are a little more temperamental. Bridgeless attys generally give better flavor from jump-street but I have better performance in the long run from bridged attys.

This is all just generalizations and people will tell you the exact opposite. There are also many different brands to choose from for both, so it is really never easy to speak simply on the matter.

I'm currently using an LR306 atty with a bridge and a Cannon drip tip. I pushed the tip down too hard when I first got it, so it leaks a little down the side. I wipe it off every couple of minutes. The atty cost $8.00 and is almost a year old, but I only use it a couple of times per month (although I'm going on a week this time). I have a blog about dripping you might find of interest:

    Drip, Drip, Drip…
