its 3 rebuildable decks now (not that im toutching the triple coil.

i had 1 build that lost al its liquid in a night, and an accident opening the top in pocket that spilled all liquid
for the rest it has been rock solid
i absolutely love the tank.
Still fiddeling to get a good dual coil build, but the tripple coil heads are perfect for me (loads of juice dont use it if you don't mix your own ;p )
It can be a pain to get the wick right but once you do it shouldnt leak...

The Kanger Subtank Mini seems so versatile! I can direct lung or mouth to lung inhale using the largest air hole as long as i keep the watts cranked up to 30 using the o.5 ohm vertical coil it came with.

8mg nicotine juice is definitely too potent though because i'm getting a real nice buzz after only one long vape or a couple of mtl vapes.

Mind you who is to say the very cheap liquid i was using before in my Nautilus tank had 18mg of nic in it.

Yea, 12 or 18 through a Nautilus is like vaping tap water.

8mg through a STM I think I would find harsh but doable.

6mg is my sweet spot.

Just a note on the comments about the TFV4 leaking:

I have a full TFV4 and 2 mini's and have never experienced any leaking. As far as the top for filling accidently coming open, I was a bit concerned with that possibility. So I use the vape bands and position them at the top of the tank over the "swing open thingy.' Easy to just slide it down enough to open for filling and then re-position.

I believe it only leaked when using home built coils. It was fine on bought coils. I pointed him at some threads on here but he said he'd tried all that and it still leaked. So dunno what the problem was/is

Invert atomizer
Close airflow
Flip atty upright
Open top/fill/close top
Open airflow and vape.

If it still leaks, it's wicked wrong.

That's the conclusion he's come to and given up and gone back to off the shelf coils :D

That's too bad.
The prebuilt coils are terrible compared to a properly built coil.

It takes a little bit of effort to learn to build and wick any atomizer properly, but the rewards are incredible.

Then again everything good in life requires a bit of effort.

Ok so i'm trying the rebuildable deck in my new Kanger Subtank Mini which handily had a coil all ready to wick. The first wick i tried just tasted bad (which i think was burning cotton). So re-wicked with less cotton and it works better. I am getting an occasional really harsh vape from it though, no idea why.

But it is leaking when it's on it's side out of the air hole facing down. Looks like the same problem i mentioned that someone else had when they tried to build their own coils.

Could it be not enough cotton this time? (not sure if it leaked with too much cotton though)

The Subtank Mini is here!! :w00t:

It's assembled, loaded with 8mg max VG Dark Passenger juice and my first direct lung hit has blown my head off :) Loads more nic than taking a puff on my nautilus at 10w with 18mg juice!

Mouth to lung using the middle air hole at 30W seems ideal too.

Very happy so far! :smokie:

I have a toptank, which is basically a subtank with top-filling feature. I use 0.5 ohm coils and stepped immediately down from 12mg to 3mg.

I can recommend the Kanger subtank nano .5 SSOCC or VOCC coils for up to 70VG liquids.

I just bought an Aspire Cleito today and vaped 99% VG liquid on the .4 ohm coil at 40W and it handles it like a subtank nano handles 65VG at 35W.....

I don't know much about mods but I agree it is a step across rather than up. Sometimes I like to MTL so use a Nautilus mini. Sometimes I want more power for a satisfying lung hit so sub ohm.

with vaping there are no 4000 chemicals telling your brain how much you love them and no MAOI's so you can get bored easily. That's why I choose MTL low power vaping AND sub ohm lung hits - get bored of one and can switch to another. Good to have say two MTL tanks and two sub ohm tanks, that way 4 flavours on the go and less chance of getting bored.

I'm a tight wad so only after the cost of a tank, pack of coils and bottle of 30ml liquid has lasted enough to replace the cost of smoking over time, then I'll buy new gear.

I'm sad that Aspire have stopped selling the regualr 1.8ohm BVC coils for the Nautilus and now only sell the claptons. Plenty of places online still have stock, but they will run out over time. I find the clapton 1.8ohm coils too 'throaty' so feel sad that my fave MTL vape will end in the not too distant future. The claptons just do not do it for me. Used ot use the regualr 1.8's hapilly at 17W, havbe to turn it down to 9W with the claptons and it's still not as satisfying as the old ones....

I'm considering what to get for my first step up to sub ohming and was shown an Reuleaux RX200 with a Uwell Crown Sun Tank today. Does that sound like a decent combo?
ipv5, sx mini m, sx mini ml, upcoming sx mini q, are good choices too
definitely pick up a aromamizer and/or griffin rta and/or mutank, rebuilding is saving me quite a bit as well
if you dont DIY juices, good time to start too

Errr i've already made a decision and bought a Kanger Sub Tank Mini V2.

I've mixed my first batch of juice and i've wicked my first coil so it's going pretty well.

I'm not about the quality of the cotton and wire that come included with the tank but i'm using them up. My iStick 30W says the coil is 0.6ohm but i can't go much over 10W before it starts tasting horrible where as the OCC coils i bought i can go up to 30W no problem. I'm guessing it's my wicking skills.

The coils and cotton that come with the kit are, eh, okay. 90% sure that your problem is the wicking. Higher-ohm builds are more tolerant of wicking being not quite right; dropping into the .5Ω range and lower will be more critical on the wicking. Cotton should be snug in the coil, but not tight. Fan the bejeezus out of the tails and make sure you're not over-stuffing them around the feed holes. Takes some practice to get it right for each setup.

I have been using the rebuildable deck on my subtank mini for over 3 months now. Things that cause leaking are not screwing the deck tightly into the base, and improperly wicking. If the wick isn't covering the holes well, extra juice will flow into the base. Also be sure to prime the wick with several drops of juice before closing things up. I haven't had any significant leaking in months.

I have the Subox Mini and almost always set it at 22W with 65% VG. Best of luck to you.
