I agree with Dingus on the Krimson Kustom evercool VV boxmod. I had the one from MV, and the box melted on me because it can run too hot. I know some like it, but I sent mine back, and got a KK. The KK evercool is built much better, and, IMHO, is a much better buy for the money. I believe they are $55. It will be built just for you, according to your specs. It looks the same, but the innards are superior quality.

I haven't gotten mine yet (it's in the mail), but the main reason I ordered one, is that from what I read, the KK's shouldn't have any trouble with dual coils. I got the Little Man (with Ego connection), which is the same as the Evercool, but with a voltage display. It costs $80, plus shipping. Quite a good deal, I think. But I'll see how well it performs once it arrives :)

The MadVapes box is a great introduction. Doesn't cost too much, and works really well. The only think you need to be careful of is that it won't run the dual coil devices, specifically those under 2 ohms. The regulator in the Madvapes mod states that it can do 3 amps, but according to my calculations, it never reaches it. Anytime I screw on a dual coil, I can't get it above 3.4 volts or it cuts off; the only way to get going again is to remove a battery, which removes power from the regulator allowing it to reset. Reinsert the battery and you're good to go again. The box works great for anything above 2 ohms. The regulator is very effective, as the difference between no load voltage and vaping voltage is 0.2 volts at worst case. Some say the regulator can get hot, but I have never had any problem.

Just wanted to say something about your dual coils shutting off. I think its your batteries. They do go very high with dual coils and I know that the grey ultrafire sem to have problems keeping up with that regulator. Sorry to hijack this a bit. Back on topic Id say try the madvapes one with the 14500 batteries. Youll have a chance to try vv and if you want a nicer one like the krimson vv then youll have some batteries for it. Just my two cents.

I ordered one of these yesterday: IPro

Was kind of torn between going cheap and trying out a VV eGo since I have eGo charges and accessories all over the place, or taking the Provari leap. Opted for the IPro. Like the smaller size, price, and look.

Ordered one in black with brass end caps. Same diameter as the eGo batteries, so should look nice and sleek with a EDCMC strapped on.

Thanks Creniker. I got 2 complete pairs of batteries at the same time from MV, but they were the silver Ultrafire. They seem to work just fine and give good life, though. However, I was wondering at one time about the very same issue. Guess I better try the AW IMR next time, for the extra punch. It would seem rather strange that the reg would do this, but I attributed it to the current surge or something. Will try different batts. Then, I will probably overheat & melt the reg through the plastic??? Yeah...good hits!

I'm not 100% positive, but I don't think an EMDCC will fit that without a 510-to-eGo adapter.

You can get those for a couple of bucks. I got two of them from MadVapes to use with my (yet to be ordered) Buzz Pro.

I think you are correct. Will be close, though. Buzzkill measured .21 rise from the threaded end. The eGo is 3/8". I'm not sure if he measured from where the taper of the end cap begins, or not, so I'll just work it out when I mug the mailman. I did get both a 510/eGo adapter and a 510 extension. Once I see how it fits, I'll figure out a way to make it purty...if needed.

I call BS. I'm baking liquids in a DC carto @ 4.5-5v on the same circuit as the MV VV Boxmod (different box [homemade hardwood]). I think your batteries' protection circuit is to blame. I have some 18650s that will fire it and some that won't.
