Looking to upgrade from G6 to VV, suggestions/input please!

Hello all,
So about a year ago I switched from a pack-a-day to vaping. I've been relatively happy with the Halo G6 but feel like I'm kind of missing out on the greener grass.. I've been researching these forums pretty intensely and have come up with a few good options for a VV upgrade. I've made a list including the MVP, vv v3, Spinner, Vamo's... I'm really not in the price range for anything above roughly $60 (so please, no provari recommendations lol). I actually plan to continue using my G6's while at work and in the car, so I'm really just looking for a good option for in-home use. Thus, I value quality over battery size.

A few other tidbits of information that may or may not be relevant... I smoke high PG juices, use 20-24mg juice, and throat hit is really the most important factor for me. The current tanks that I use are roughly 2.0-2.2 with .5 variance... I'm thinking that once I upgrade, I'd prefer 1.5 or 1.8 ohm coils, and I realize that with either of those, I would pretty much be limited to 3.0-4.0 voltage... so would a VV really be of benefit/use to me?? They seem like much better devices that basic ego's. I'm intrigued by the added control and regulated output. It's also possible that I'm not understanding wattage because I don't really see the benefit to increasing from 6-7.5 to a higher wattage. Am I missing something here? Any input and suggestions for simple/affordable VV setups will be greatly appreciated! Thanks much!

I love my MVP's as well especially paired with my Kanger Glass Tanks.
To upgrade like it was mentioned above me, more than likely requires an external battery and charger.
Vision Spinner 2 is VV and pairs nicely with the Kanger Aero Tank, and has built in 1600mah battery for a good all day vape.
It also has replaceable coils so you can keep the tank, which will last you forever unless you break the Pyrex.
I would advise sticking to glass tanks when upgrading so you can vape all e-liquids, and not have to worry about tanks degrading on you.

If you want to hit the 20 watt range, look in to the Vamo Series. (avoid the V5) Look for a Vamo with a floating pin. The Vamo 5 the pin keeps running away and needs constant adjustment when you take tank off to refill it or put another tank on it. (Well mine does)
But the MVP is a solid unit.

What kind of tanks do you have? And are you going to get more? For me personally, increasing the wattage helps vaporize the juice quicker increasing vapor production and flavor. For most standard type tanks, you really can't go over 10 watts without getting dry hits... But you could get rebuildable tanks such as kayfuns ( or kayfun clones, as I have), foggers, ect and crank up the wattage a bit... Or also get into rebuildable drippers and you can really crank up the watts, some do 100+ ( expert area only).

It's basically a smaller, recessed threading for pen-style and cig-a-like batteries. They hold either .9 ml or 1.3 ml.. They're actually pretty decent. $2-3 a piece, can be washed out. And since I always have a lot of different juices, they're a good option. (Although not many options for the smaller batteries).. (G6 are only about 300 mah)

The VV is a real good deal if you want to use variable wattage. I've seen prices form $25-$50, so shop around(I got mine for $23 at an online sale). If you want to use your 808s you will need a 510 to 808 adapter. The MVP can be found for $40, has the same features as the VV but with 3 times the battery(800 vs 2600)

I think an aspire CE-5S ($6)or ET-S($8) would be a good choice for a clearo (both are metal with glass windows and can use 1.6 or 1.8 BDC or BVC coils).

If you are ok with variable voltage only the ego twist or spinners are a bit cheaper, maybe $10-$20.

For a simple VV device I like the Vision Spinner II. I have two of them and got a lot of use from them before I moved on up. But for about the same price you can get a Vamo V5 or V6. I have a V6 and use it as much as my mech mod. (The V7 is out now too at FT but I'm not sure about the price versus features). The thing with the Vamo is it is a VW device. But changing the watts gets you basically the same result as changing volts...control over the power (heat). I highly recommend the V6 and do like the control and consistency of the regulated mod. And you can get on from Sweet Vapes for less than I paid for my first Vision. (But you will need a battery and charger).

Thanks again for the help...
- I would not be trying to continue using 808 tanks
- I will definitely check out the aspire tanks
- will also be looking at these Black Friday/thanksgiving sales!

I had just started looking at the Triton. Seems like a solid setup and Halo is definitely quality... I was a little hesitant about getting it because I've gotta use only Halo's Triton tanks, correct?? Or could I pop other tanks on there?
