Hi there,

I've been on and off the bandwagon, going from eCigs to Analogs, for awhile now but looking at my bank statement and how much it costs me to constantly buy packs of Djarum Blacks, has me wanting to get back into eCigs permanently and save myself $200 a month.

The only models I've used before are the ModernVapor Sidesho (modified 902 models, I believe), and whereas I think Tony is a really great guy, my main issue with it was that portions of it would keep breaking down on me: the battery would lose its charge, or the atomizer would clog or break. It was enough to make me just switch back to Analogs, which is kind of opposite of the point of switching. Granted the models I was using were way back in '09/'10, so the tech may have improved since then.

Anyway, I'm ready to get back on this at full force, but I need some help and direction. I'd like to get something that is relatively easy to maintain, and doesn't have to deal with large amounts of batting in the reservoir, so I'm thinking a tank based PV is what I should get, and I hear the EGO-C or EGO-T are good choices, but I'm not sure. reviews seem to be wishy washy on that front. I've also heard that ProVape and Puresmoker are good places to look at their ProVari and BudPro's, so that may be more up my alley.

I just don't want to get embroiled in a PV that will have the technical issues that I had with the old 902's, so anyone's suggestions (even if away from the ones I mentioned) would be gladly accepted.

Also, as I only smoke Djarum Blacks, I was curious if anyone had a resource on where to get an eliquid that was close to the taste of that. I've searched the threads here and elsewhere and have found old posts, but nothing recent, so if anyone could point me in the direction of a good substitute that would be great also.

Thanks for the help, and I hope to hear from folks soon!

Hello & welcome back to the game!

I don't think I have enough authority to speak with great confidence but since you had mentioned the eGo and eGo-T models, I thought I'd chime in to tell you I was in a similar situation. I recently purchased an eGo-C Twist (Variable Voltage) model with a Vision Clearo/Stardust (Whatever they're referred to as) and have been vaping happily away on it since last week.

I used to use the 510 system back in the day and was just as frustrated as you regarding all the equipment problems that eventually encouraged me to move back to my Newports. I know I haven't been using my system as long as some on this forum but I haven't had any issues with mine and it's vaping just as well as the day I bought it.

Also, I read on here someone had mentioned smokers looking to quit should look for flavors that do NOT match their old tried & true habits. I searched for menthols that were similar to Newports and settled for a few fruity/berry like tastes that don't remind me at all about the Newports I'm trying to kick to the curb. I hope you find a match & wish you the best of luck!

first welcome back or welcome to trying to get back. If you want to go with the ego it is not a bad choice to start with although if you want to jump in to the "good" stuff the provari you showed interest in is also a good choice but is big investment in the beginning. I don't recommend getting a buzzpro just because I don't feel comfortable recommending a battery stacking mod especially to a beginner. then after we got the battery equasion out of the way you have to decide what you want to put on top of it...a lot of people recomend those ego vison stardust/cleromizors/ce* what ever you call them...I however don't simply because i did not have good luck with them and they are a head ache when trying to choose one since there are so many versions and such. I say go with a cartomizor. Either a boge 2.0lr or a smoktech 1.7ohm as those are pretty reliable and easy to use. Again this is just my opinions I am sure there will be a 100 others that will think something different but in the end it all depends on your budget and your prefered vape at the end of the day.

Thanks for the info guys. Is there any specific dealer that I should look at concerning the eGo-C Twist? Or where to pick up the Boge or Smoketech cartomizers?

Provari would be my suggestion. I have a couple and they are great - never failed me. I primarily use a Phiniac tank with a prepunched Smoketek single coil flanged carto. I have also used the Stardusts, Vivi Novas, regular cartos and various other things but I keep coming back to the Phiniac tank as it generally gives me the most satisfaction without leaks or problems like some of the others sometimes have.

JY,I personally am hooked on the Phoenix bottom coils XL's from GotVapes. They have awesome flavor transport and vapor. The only downside is that you have to fill them with a syringe. It's really not as bad as it sounds. Fill two or three with different flavors and your good for the day. If you like a sweetish tobacco vape their Pyramid Fusion is my favorite. I also really like their Butterscotch. Anyway an Ego twist battery and these Phoenix's make a great combination. In my opinion (and everyones got one) GotVapes is one of the better vendors and are always getting the latest gizmo's and will never leave you hanging. If nothing else just check them out. I think you'll be glad you did.

Awesome, and good to know. I also read on here that a Lavatube may be another good VV unit to go with instead of the ProVari right off the bat. It is a bit less expensive, so that may be where my niche is, and I'd rather not get an eGo-C Twist for the same price if the Lavatube will give a better vape. The info on the Carto's is great though, thanks for that info, folks.
