I have been using some of the LorAnn flavors for my DIY liquids. Many of the fruit flavors are good. But that's what I like.

Taste is so subjective, it really is individual. Take a look over on the DIY thread, they have a huge amount of information on different flavor brands. There is also a list of the Lorann flavors and which ones are soluble in water and which are not. There is a wealth of information there.

For all things DIY head on over to the DIY ELiquid Forum. Make sure to read all the "stickies". Also check out the blogs by ECF members Hoosier & dannyv45.

dannyv45 posted this thread a while ago. Wonderful information here: I've updated my recommended reading for people new to DYI.

For a juice mixing calculator consider using eJuiceMeUp

I don't just buy all my flavors from one flavoring company. I primarily use Flavor Arts but there are some flavors that TFA/Inawera/Capella and others do better (and better/best is subjective depending on what you like). Start out with a few recipes you want to make, research those flavors to see who does it best and then try making a few recipes.

Hi Nate!

Yes, you might want to go with simple single-flavor blends to figure out what percentage works for you. Now, just because you use 10% of a LorAnns flavoring, doesn't necessarily mean you'll use 10% of that same type of flavor made by a different supplier (e.g. Capella, FlavourArt, TPA, etc.) But, when you get somewhat familiar with your flavor bases, you can adapt to your personal preference. That's why you might often see recipes with specific flavor providers. But, even then, 7% of Vanilla Custard in one person's recipe might be too much or too little for *YOU*

Take good notes when you mix. It will help you figure out the nuances as you go along. (As mentioned above?) read Hoosier's and Dannyv45's blogs. They give some good insight for new mixers.

Have fun!
