Found out this morning that he has two big tumors in his belly. I'll take him back to the vet when it's time to let him go. I'm not handling this well. My boy Jules is the best. You get so attached to these guys. Thanks for reading. I'll finish my nervous breakdown now. This is harder than losing people because pets rely on you for everything. And you rely on them too.

Wow, kinda tuff reading my screen now... been there, done that... and it all still hurts!

I still miss ALL my dear four legged creatures.

BTW, Jules looks much like my KC (Kitty Cat, original, right?) that adopted us as a young feline...

... and was the last furry buddy I buried (six years ago).

If you're young enough, I recommend 'saving' another buddy and let your ol' past furry friends rejoice in knowing that that another 'brother/sister' will cuddle with ya!

Sorry to hear that news..I've been there within the last 6 months with my faithfull companion...I had my dog Jack for 12 and a half years and lost him in november... nothing ANYONE can say will make things easier on you and no advice will change your opinion..You just have to know when the time is right and know in your heart that you're doing the right thing.

The bond between you and Jules will never be broken no matter what the outcome

Wishing you strength my friend

So sorry you are losing your friend. Anyone who has ever been gifted with the love and trust of any living creature will always have their life enriched. Not being able to share that love in the day to day is painful. But I truly believe, hearts and spirits live on and so will the joy of the time you've shared together. We lost Zeus, our python not quite a year ago. He may not have been quite as cute and cuddly as a dog or cat, but he was family. Someday we'll get another I'm sure. Maybe you can do the same and let another find a place of love with you.

Thanks very much everyone. When I was trying to wake up and see how Jules was doing this morning I thought he would be in the living room. When I finally opened my eyes he was laying on a pillow next to me. My eyes opened and he was looking right at me.
If he has a soundtrack in his mind it's Barry White and Teddy Pendergrass. All love.

The orange ones are just different from the rest!

We adopted our first-ever orange tabby in 2007. Big BIG boy currently at 25 pounds. He came from an abusive household (they did an at-home front declawing and the vet said he had both his shoulders dislocated at some point) and it took quite a while before he purred or showed any kind of affection. The abuse has made him be able to only walk - slowly - no jumping or running. And he does not play.

All that said... there will now ALWAYS be an orange fella in the household, even after he leaves. We have never had a more loyal cat.

That was a big cat! Jules hurt a hind leg jumping through a fence years ago. I think he weighed 16 pounds and the vet said he needs to lose weight, I wouldn't want you giving him two insulin shots a day. I tried I really tried to feed less etc and he would have nothing to do with it. I finally gave up and he did fine. But I made him fat and if(probably) I get another cat down the road apiece I'll feed him less.
I think Tabbys are the best.

I don't understand why people hurt animals. There are just a lot of s***heads out there. Good for you to take on Mother Theresa job.
