Hi All,

I've been vaping for 3 weeks now (Kanger Evod clearomizer and Vision Twist), and have given up analogues after 40 years of smoking. I've vaped several types of 24 mg eliquid (tobacco, butterscotch, key lime pie, etc) and am enjoying the experience. However, I seem to lose the much-craved throat hit by evening, and it doesn't reappear until mid-morning. Any ideas about why this may be happening or how to alleviate the problem?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I notice something similar as the day goes on. I look at it as a tolerance type thing, where you just get used to the feeling. I have so many different clearo's I rotate, that I have some specifically for this, and now that I'm into DIY it's great. My hardest hitting throat hit is a very high PG% Red Bull @ 24mg nic. And another is a similar strength Grape Soda type flavor I made. These are the ones I hit more at night when I specifically want the throat hit. If I were to hit these 1st thing in the morning, they'd be pretty irritating. But that's when I love my ADV, which is a smooth mellow blueberry/vanilla that's a tad under 18mg nic. The best thing I can recommend is switching it up at different times of day. I do it all day long.

If you're sticking with a single flavor all day long, it's most likely your body telling you that your taste buds are overloaded, which is common when you first switch to vaping. It even happens to those of us with years of vaping behind us; most refer to it as vaper's tongue.

The goal is to switch things up here and there. So if you chain vape one flavor for 3-4 hours, switch over to another flavor for the next 3-4 and then continue swapping out. Using this method, you don't "go numb" to the flavor and TH of a single flavor.

I've been vaping for 4 years now and it still happens to me, even with my DIY liquids. It's just what happens :). What I generally do is vape one flavor, move to another and by that time, it's time to eat. After I eat, my palate is cleansed, so going back to the first flavor yields the TH and flavor I was getting earlier in the day. Rinse & Repeat.

I normally eat 5-6 smaller meals across the day instead of 3 larger ones, so I can generally keep things moving along pretty well.

Changing juice is a good idea and that's how i vape.

One thing to add for OP. Throat hit isn't directly associated with nic level. Some juices just kick harder than others.
By the way, it might also be due to drained battery if you are using same one all day. If you have a spare battery, maybe try using fully charge one late in the day to see if that makes any difference.

my advice is to get a hard hitting mechanical mod and a rebuildable dripping atomizer. i have a segelei #19 with #8 caravella head and switch from fatdaddyvapes and a atomic rebuildable dripping atomizer from bevapehappy. a rebuildable dripping atomizer hits harder. people say the magneto hits hard too, the cheapest place i found a magneto is at trianglevape. if you don't know how to build coils look up Rip Trippers on youtube he shows how to build several different types of coils.

Thank you, Tactical. I usually switch flavours several times a day, but I will try smaller/more frequent eating.

I'm not suggesting you eat more :). Eating simply functions as a palate cleanser for me. I can eat chips and salsa, hot peppers, a taco etc and that revitalizes my taste buds. It's just the act of getting away from the same thing to give your taste buds a chance to get out of the overload mode they're in if you chain vape.

Not everyone get's hit with the vaper's tongue / chain vaping overload, but I've found small snacks here and there and staying hydrated (I drink up to 1 gallon of water per day) keeps things going. After a while, it's second nature and you don't seem to have as many "episodes" as you do when you first start off.

If your more concerned with TH than flavor and don't mind tobacco flavors, there are some NETs (Naturally Extracted Tobacco) juices that hit like freight trains.

Another possibility is some juices are offered in higher nic levels than 24mg, sometimes 36mg. You could buy a bottle of both levels and mix them for any level of nic in between.

Many thanks, PlanofMan. I'm not sure I can get that in the UK, but will have a look.

Any unflavored alcohol will work. As for the PG (propylene glycol), you might be able to find that at a feed or farm type store (don't know if you have those in the UK) it's used as an additive to cattle feed and dog food.

You've already gotten good advice here. When I experience what you're referring to, I up voltage, reduce resistance, increase PG or add a bit of either menthol or a juice I have with pepper in it... cinnamon also works if you're using pyrex.... or some combination of all these.... also, a top coil clearo will be a warmer vape increasing TH.... just a few things to consider.
