Loss of Taste?

The last couple days I've experienced a loss of taste with my liquids. I've got a fair amount of samples and such and try to vape a mix throughout the day, but yesterday it seemed I was just blowing plain VG...I could barely taste anything.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I've just started vaping 10-12 days ago, so maybe it's something to do with quitting smoking and my tastebuds coming back? Dunno, but it's weird right now.

Yes, that has happened to me. It kind of comes and goes. I switch to a stronger flavor when it happens. I have heard others on here mention it happening to them too.

It seems to be a common phenomenon. The good news is that it only seems to last a day or so for most people. It happened to me yesterday - and totally stunk! I mean, I've invested some change in stuff that tastes good, I want it to taste good.

Today? Everything's all good again.

Thanks guys...I'm a bit relieved now I guess. Just ride it out I suppose....sucks because I got some Backwoods Brew today and don't think I'm getting the full experience.

Yep, It happened to me as well. Didn't last that long. From what I have read your taste buds take about three weeks to get back to normal.

Yup it happens. I try to vape some mint or coffee. You should have said something. I would have put some in your box.

Yep, taste comes and goes and favorites come and go...frustrating and fun.

I've got some mint and some Marcado from JC (now THAT is strong), but still tastes pretty weak.

I've been eating some really hot and spicy food the last couple days...might have something to do with it now that I think about it. Might be that either that killed it, or it was just my body looking for something tasty because my taste was failing.

I've been vaping for 8 months and still occasionally have this problem if I vape too much. For me, vaping a mint or menthol will get them back on track in no time.

This happens to me sometimes... Then I get annoyed with not being able to taste anything and spend 15 minutes using a tongue scraper and try my liquids again... and all is well with the world.

yeah, I brushed the sheet outta my tongue this morning...didn't seem to help. Is a scraper different?

I think so, I brush my teeth and tongue 3x a day and still happens to me sometimes. Usually when I chain vape without a beverage. The only thing that helps for me is my 99 cent tongue scraper from walmart lol.

Ive always wanted a tongue scraper but wasnt sure if they were myth or reality. My toothbrush has a 'tongue scraper' on the other side. Its like this bumpy rubbery pad.

Im fascinated by the idea of a real tongue scraper. Are they metal? If so, i think im going to buy one. I may actually take my tongue stud out to use it, instead of working around it like usual.

I just ran out to the store and bought one. They aren't metal, but soft plastic. After using it to scrape my tongue a few times (can't see how 15mins would make a difference) I have gotten some taste back. It's not like it was a couple days ago, but better.

Either way, it's good to do anyhow......

Mine is a mixture of hard and soft plastic. I had a toothbrush like that, the thing on the back was a joke, lol. You should really get one, they are awesome!

Be careful not to do more damage to your sensitive taste buds. If you see the bumps (taste buds) are raised on your tongue I wouldn't do anything to make them more irritated. I was using my toothbrush and vigorously brushing everywhere inside my mouth including my tongue and I ended up making things worse. I started using Oragel Mouthwash without alcohol and Tom's Toothpaste and that helped a lot.
