Well, more like lost trying to find one that works! So far, the only decent one I've used has been the iClear 30, but it gets so hot so quickly, and it's a plastic tank.

Protank II has been my main tank, but it constantly gets stuck somewhere. Coil to base, glass to base, etc., and yesterday, the glass cracked somehow. It's currently unable to come apart, so it's not like I could fill it anyway.

Recently bought an Aspire BDC with the intent of using it as a backup. Almost every coil I've tried with it from a pack of 5 has given me a burnt taste, or no taste at all, even after repeated priming. Then, it would start to gurgle and I end up with juice in my mouth.

I'm really just in need of a good glass tank that has replaceable coils (that aren't DOA). After my experiences with the Aspire BDC, I'm very reluctant to purchase another Aspire tank again.

Please, oh please, what is a reliable tank??:(

Aspire Nautilus Mini BVC. I sound like a broken record, mentioning this clearomizer to people here left and right, but it's that good, that's why.

Bc you already mentioned about the Aspire BDC you might be hesitant to try the Bvc or skeptical that it might be much better. Well it is noticeably better and more stable

Cheers

Sounds like your issue is not with the tanks, but with the power settings. What are you using for your battery? I have and have used all of the aforementioned tanks with no problem. Also, what kind of juice are you using? Some juice can't be used in plastic (i.e. heavily acidic juices).

Typically I vape at 3.3v 6w, however, I've needed to go up to 4.2v when I use the Aspire ET-S BDC tank to get a decent amount of vapor going into the wick. I use an iTaste MVP V2 battery.

I vape typically black licorice or Extreme Ice from Mt Baker Vapor

Ok so it's not the juice. What is your ohm rating on your coils? 3.3v is pretty low and 4.2v can be pretty high depending on your coil rating. For example, at 3.3v, a 2.0 or 2.5 ohm coil will taste burnt/bad because it's not getting enough power. Likewise, 4.2v may be burning your juice. Check out this chart to compare your Ohm rating (on the left) to your volts, (on the top). That will also show you your Watts (in the middle). Everything is personal preference, however, certain juices will react differently to difference loads. Find your perfect setting and you will be good.

Also, there is no need to jump right from 3.3 to 4.2, even a small change such as 3.5 or 3.6 makes a huge difference. For example, on my PT3, with a 2.0 ohm coil, my sweet spot is 3.8v. On the same tank, with a 1.8 ohm coil, my sweet spot is 3.4-3.5v. A few .1v's can make a huge difference. Vaping is not only about the power on your battery but is equally about the resistance of your coil as well.

You must find balance grasshopper :vapor:

Hi Coconut, i understand your dilemma, Ive probably gone thru more toppers than i would like to admit, at this point in my vaping Ive been most pleased with the Iclear 30s heads, they aren't perfect ( draw is a little tight but no where near the 30) , recently picked up a kanger Genitank and have been very pleased, you might want to check it out.........have not had luck with kanger in the past but the geni has performed very well for me

If you like to rebuild your coils as I do then I go with Kanger or similar that take the kanger coils.

Currently using a dbox Puritank holds about 4ml of liquid and looks good on my new eLeaf iStick. I have found that building your own coils, wicking with japanese cotton is the way to go as it is dead easy and you will find they are a lot better than the stock coils.

Yes as previously posted the Aspire Nautilus mini or Genitank are the best choices. They are arguably the best clearomizer tanks and tank makers on the market right now but unfortunately all tanks will stick together if they are not regularly cleaned no tank is immune to this, also your going to have problems with ALL tanks at some point or another whether its with the bad coil heads, cracks in tank from ejuice or dropping, seals breaking etc... but my recommend stand as noted Areotank lines is something else to consider good luck friend

be careful which aspire coils you are buying.

if you want the BVC which i now use 100% over the BDC, be sure you buy the BVC coils that look exactly like the BDC coils but are called BVC.
not many places are carrying them yet.

also i always find it confusing to hear people talk about the BDC coils giving off burnt taste.

you wont get a burnt taste on a low voltage/wattage it wont ever happen,,, never,, not so long as the coil is primed properly.
only if its not primed will it be burnt.

the BDC coils really need to be primed hard.. i put them in my tank, cover every opening, including a finger over the bottom, and puff a few times like a pipe. this forces the liquid into the coil.
then i cover only the bottom and give 6-10 pulls on the tank like i am vaping it.

then i fire at 3.5v to make sure its primed good and the coil is wet. then i push it up to 3.8-4v depending on the juice. and all is well after that.

100% VG juice is really tough to use on these BDC coils (BVC handle it much better) because the BDC inlet holes are really small and there are only 2 of them.

this takes all of about 2-4 minutes.
