FWIW USPS sucks buffalo cajonas with regards to tracking. I have yet to track anything from the US, with the exception that the post office received the package. I suppose they could track it if it got lost, but updated information on the package's whereabouts is non existent. That has been my experience anyway.

What the tracking does give you is;

1) if it is sitting in customs.This gives you the information of where it is, and a reference to it, if you choose to call Customs and ask what the heck is up with it. With a tracking number you can identify the package to them, otherwise they won't even look for it

2) you know if it has been refused entry and shipped back to the supplier, that way they can't claim you lost it..

Anything of more value than a Christmas card, I want tracked, not to see the hour by hour movement, but to protect myself.

Hey - really good idea to contact the company you ordered from - see if there was a tracking number assigned and let them know what's happening. With eliquids - there's a 50/50 chance of it getting through customs. Customs can hold it for 6 - 8 weeks before sending it back to the originating address. If the company is not aware of the restrictions in Canada - it would be a good time to educate them - make it easier for future orders for yourself and others.

Chances are a lot better then 50/50 of making it through customs.

Not if the outside is plastered with E-cigarette or e-whatever. You don't always know, unless discussed prior how the supplier is going to ship it..

10 lbs orders valued at 1 cent is another way to make the 50/50 odds look conservative.

Hey guys - 50/50 is not the same as 50%.

Everything that goes through customs has a 50/50 chance of being opened. I've had most of my orders come through customs just fine - and some get stuck.

Many liquid suppliers in the US are unaware of the current problems with Health Canada and Customs - so it's always worth it to give a heads up.

Hope your order makes it through.

And have a great holiday season!
:)
