Guy, please respond to this, for this is the first dna device I have gotten with a lipo in it. The first 2 days it took nearly 5 to 6 hours to fully charge. Then it got better with time. Turned into 2 to 3 hours. Then I let the battery go down where it said low battery and check atomizer. Now after 6 hours of charging it's still only 75% finished. Is this a faulty board/ lipo? Or is this how long they take to charge? I will return it immediately if it's the case

My two Halcyon Fullymax batteries took about 5-6 charges before they settled down. (Somewhere during these charges I went down to 20-30% but cannot be more specific.)

Now, I go from 20-30% to fully charged in something over an hour...IOW 6 hours to 75% charged would be abnormal in my experience. (I have also charged externally, and a "fast charge" externally, so my results would not meet a purist's 'scientific' methodology test.)

Two points: As you see above, (a) I have two Halcyons, so charging is not a real issue for me (and why I got a second); (b) there are lots of posts and videos videos on breaking in, or conditioning, lipos. Getting that under your belt may prevent too early a return (as defective).

Keep us informed of your progress...

I've been told that with lipos it takes 4-6 charge/discharge cycles before they "break in" :) Like with anything else some types/brands of lipos are better than others.

Yes, that is (roughly) my experience too.

What I left out above, and is implicit in the RC video I linked to, is that you do not want to run the Lipo max'd out when conditioning.

I fear that is what the OP (questioner) may have done: run at + 80 watts.

I never, in the beginning, went over 50 watts, usually between 40 and 48 watts. 48 is my sweet spot at 450-460 F, though, depending on the atty, I have gone as low as 400 F.

I can only offer a real world answer for my halcyon. Battery was about 50% when i recieved it. Charged it to full first thing, around 3.5hrs and it was ready to go. First cycle lasted about 9 hours at 35 to 40 watts on .7ohm ti coil.
Next recharge was approx 5 hours from low battery warning. Also im using the supplied cable and a wall adapter to charge.
Mine is due for a charge as we speak so i shall be interested to see how long it takes.

I have had my Halycon for over a month now, the battery lasts me about 6hrs chain vaping at 36-40w, all i can think is, is your charger outputing 1amp? if it's 500mah it will take twice the time. charging takes just over the hour for me. other than that you must have an issue, but i have never seen it before and i use 4 DNA 200's . and 1 DNA75

So with a 1 amp charger it takes about an hour to charge it?

I just received my 2nd Halycon and also purchased 2 bigger capacity batteries (3s lipo) and external charger, so now I will get better battery life plus I will have a spare for each and faster charging.

Unless there is a NEW Lavabox LiPo it is 900 mah, as per the Volcano site.

It is a Fullymax identical to the Vaporshark & others at 900 mah.

I looked up the battery spec and it has a 2c charge rate so you can charge it max at 1.8 amps and that should give you about a 30 to 40 min charge time.
I would highly recommend a good hobby charger like a small hitec. You really want to balance all your cells in the battery while it's being charged. That means all the cell's are in the same voltage range sine you basically have three lipo cells in one package. I just wouldn't trust a chip to balance the cells.
I fly RC helicopters as my other hobbie and I charge 12 cell 4000mah battery's in 25 min with a 1000 watt charger at 2c.
I'm thinking more of safety here. When cells in the battery get out of balance they can puff up and then could cause a fire

That is the charger I ordered.
