tell us a little more - what type of cigarettes do you smoke (often called "analogs" here)? Do you like sweets, coffee? How much do YOU think it needs to look and feel like a cigarette? Are you mechanically inclined or are you willing to spend a little more to make it simpler?

You came to the right place! You are likely to be bombarded by very good folks with your interest at heart! The more we know, the more we'll be happy to help!

Kr808-d1, 510, 901, are all good starting points, as well as the ego/riva upgrades in previous post..so much of this is subjective and personal preference! More info = better help. Tell us what you can, about your smoking habit..expectations.. etc. So folks on here are better able to help with suggestions.

You're going to see a lot of numbers thrown at you, and NONE of them are going to make any sense for a few days. ;)

What are you smoking habits right now? I know that you're at 1/2 pack a day, but what flavor? Do you like to tinker with stuff? Or are you a "set it and forget it" type of person?

If you want to get an understanding of the various types and how they work...

In the sticky threads a the top of New Members forum...
1. watch he Newbie videos
2. look in the thread with Library in its title for a link to an illustrated multipart guide

And it's good to know that super-minis (e-cigs the size of a king cigarettes) please few people for more than a few weeks, so look at minis and larger. The videos and the guide will help you figure out what you want. And if they don't show them, the more powerful fat battery versions are based upon the minis 510, 901, KR808D-1 so that is an upgrade path for those minis if you need more. I think a mini should be fine for you based on your habit. And if you are smoking full strength cigs then 24mg nicotine ejuice will probably be right for you, 16-18mg if you are a lights smoker, maybe 10-12mg if you are an ultralights smoker

First thing to remeber is it doesn't HAVE to look like a cigarette. However, some people prefer they do. That being said.

Joye 510 2 piece (cartomizer+battery) are a good start, cigarette "like" and it's a base for upgrading to better as your "taste" develop. Joye is one brand, the 510 specifically is more to do with the threads on the battery and cartomizer. Joye is very reliable and supplies are abundant. You can go the 3 piece route (catridge+atomizer+battery) but it's alot more work for the beginner. Cartomizers (cartridge+atomizer) are alot simpler and less fuss. I started 4 months ago on joye 510s and aside from upgrades are still on the 510. Also go with manual batteries, yea it's a bit more trouble at first, but you will have less problems with them.

Whatever type you choose make sure to get some extra juice... You will inevitabley run out.

I was a 3/4 PAD smoker (menthol lights) and smoked for over 40 years.
Did a lot of research before buying my 1st e-cig and decided to go with a standard ego.
Of course YMMV, but I vape 18mg juice most of the time (love my organic kona cream from vaperite.com) and also have a 24mg juice in menthol tobacco flavor for emergencies in case I start craving a stinky (analog) cig.
I am near the end of my sixth day without a stinky and doubt I would enjoy it now if I smoked one. I just enjoy vaping so much more.
My breathing has gotten SO much better!
To vape the way I'm doing it, you only need an ego starter kit, a couple or few 30ml bottles of juice and a pack of blank carts. I use the cart mod where you remove and cut the polyfill from the cart in half, put 13 or 14 drops juice in it, put the poly in and a couple more drops on top of the poly. Then a couple more drops in the atty before putting the cart in and I can go for over half a day without refilling. A battery lasts me a full day.

Whatever you decide to do...... Good luck! There are a lot of folks here to help guide you.

Thank you for all the replies.

I smoke camel 99.

If I drink coffee, I smoke about 10 a day.

If I don't drink coffee, I smoke about 4 a day.

I know, quit drinking coffee. NO!!!!

I feel I can quit pretty easy, if I have something that hits like a cigarette.

I like to stick with the tabacco flavor, around 18mg, and I am very mechanically inclined.

Don't know how well I can spell, but I can fix stuff.

I hope this info helps narrow it down.

Give me 1 good one, and I will go with that.

Thank you again for all your help.

No way. We had to do our homework, and so do you! :p

Seriously, browse the sticky threads at the top of this forum and watch MistressNomad's videos for newbies. E-cigs are great, but there is a learning curve to choosing the right model for your individual needs and properly using it.

What has worked out great for me may be totally overkill for you, so dig a little deeper then come back and ask more specific questions. I'm still a newb too and have picked up great tips from the veterans here.

Too funny Mud, but really he is right, so much of this is personal choice..it is hard to say. What I love you may hate. Is size, weight, look like a cig stuff important to you? Are you looking for best price, best performance...etc? I am not meaning to be rude, just all these things matter in what is the best choice/recommedations for you.

I don't even know what a sticky thread is.

Currently, the first 10 threads in the New Members Forum are sticky threads. They are labeled "sticky" and they stick to the top of the first page because a moderator has deemed the information provided to be particularly valuable. By having these threads "stuck" to the top of the page, they're easy to find.

I don't care what it looks like, as long as resembles a cigerette. Weight doesn't matter.

I just want it to hit and taste as close to a real cigarette as I can get.

Not real picky about size and style ect..

No offense, but these 2 statements seem contradictory.

They taste so much better than real cigarettes. The "hit" can be mellow or knock you on your ..., depending on a few different factors.

Assuming your user name, OP, is football related, hi from only a few miles from sun life stadium. *

Take your time and read through the first 6 links here:
The ECF Library

I quickly learned that look like, hit like and look like, hit like, do it consistently and for longer than 15-20 minutes are NOT the same thing in today's e-cig world. Perhaps the batteries of tomorrow.......

*Note - - - In the time it took to write this message sun life stadium errrr I mean Landshark Stadium.... ooops I mean Joe Ro.....no, no ... I mean Pro Pla.............. has probably changed names again.
