Loves/Hates of The Ego T

As they say in the armored division: I (heart) my tank.

A cooler vape with TH like an analog. I wound up not even wanting to smoke after getting my eGo.
It does take a learning curve and maybe a little fiddling once in a while, to control the leaks, for some.

But on a day to day basis, it takes about 15 seconds to fill the tank, swap the battery, and be ready for all day vaping.

You sometimes need to adjust the wick to your PG/VG mix radio. It doesn't really like pure PG.
You need to align the tank with the atty openings, and learn to seat it fully
I get less leaking when I leave it sit horizontal, or put it in my shirt pocket tank downward (battery up).
And you learn to check the tank seating after you drop it.

Since I bought the B kit, I also picked up some CE2 clearos and some eGo mega carts (the syringe fill, not the duel coils) to try out.
Both produced more "tongue burn" than "throat hit".
The CE2 leaked all over.
And even the mega carto leaked on me today. (I'd left it standing up. It piddled onto the battery.)

I've had my eGo about a month, but the B tank kit I bought is still my preferred vape.
And it really does displace smoking, even for an old smokestack like me.

I haven't tried a DIY (improved) wick yet, as my wicks haven't gotten that gunky on unflavored.

Oh: and I finally managed to run a 1000 mAh out of power: It took two and a half *days* with a stock B atty.

Personally, I had bad luck with the CE2s and the mega carto containing filler. I didn't like the performance at all, including the giantomizer. As a contrast, I had great and consistent performance from Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartomizers. The Type B Large Tank was one of my favorite vapes until the EMDCC came out, and now I favor it because of the great performance and the 3 extra ml of fluid they hold. I tried all kinds of configurations for the Egos, and I'm now down to two favorites and don't plan on spending anymore money on gimmicks: 1) The 2 ml Type B Large Tank, 2) The 5 ml EMDCC. Both are great, and I'm happy with either one.

Some people dislike the tank system because of "muted flavor", which I suspect is a result of the cooler vapor.
(Routing the vapor past the liquid filled tank appears to have a cooling effect.)

I would think a dual coil carto would be the opposite: a hotter vapor.
And the hotter vapor is one thing I don't like about the single coil mega carto.

So does the EMDCC give you a hot vape?

I'm also worried that a 1.5 ohm dual coil would run down a 650 mAh battery pretty quickly. And that big honkin' carto stuck on a 1000 mAh would be a rather large stack to carry in a pocket.

I suppose I should try a couple for myself, but I hesitate to place micro-orders: where you pay more for shipping than for the products.

Tom- about being a dud, I'm thinking youre right. As for being genuine, I'm pretty sure it is. I bought it from one of the registered suppliers here who happens to have a brick and mortar store where I live. He's a stickler for not endorsing knock offs and has spotted stuff before that I've bought elsewhere that wasn't the real deal.
I think I just got a bad one.

I've often heard of people having problems with ego-t's that are supposedly genuine but aren't. I got mine from cignot.com which is a registered joyetech supplier and both the atty and the battery should have the ego-t on them. Also, I haven't seen a single person that has had a problem who bought there's from cignot (that I'm aware of).

The leaking can be resolved with one of two ways. Make sure the cap is on tight and also, depending on how much times that you have open and closed it. A new cap or tank maybe in order. How did you pierce the tank in the first place? If it's done incorrectly than there might be a chance that you have made the hole for the wick a bit to big which can result in leaking issues.

I had 2 LR tank/atties and 1 lasted 2 wks and 1 lasted about 3. Not impressed with the flavor or vapor produced in any way.

That's odd. Mine has lasted for 3 months already and show no signs of slowing down. Did you let it wick every here and there. Also, as with other LR atties. If you let it get to dry before it wicks than the coil can be blown. So, if your chain vaping constantly. It will be like any other atty or carto that you have used and will die an early death due to abuse. OR, you might have gotten some duds like others have mentioned.

The flavor you get is subjective. It brings out flavors that other types of atties don't. As far as vapor, how do you draw from it? To get good results from an ego-t, you have to take a very light and long draw. It's definitely different from using all the other pv's that I have.

I don't think that the Ego-T Type B Large Tank produces a muted flavor - just the opposite. I haven't noticed a hotter vapor from the EMDCC, nor have I noticed faster battery drain. I don't have any complaints about the EMDCC, and the price is very reasonable.

I am happy with my eGo Tank. My first attie just died yesterday. I had bought it 6 months ago. It was a TAWA tank attie. I have 2 more Joye atties and just placed an order for 2 LR atties.

I like the ease of using mine. Easy to fill and mine lasts all day on a fill. I have only recently had any tanks leak. I have two 1000ma batteries. I picked up adapters so I can use the atties on my GGTB or my Provari as well when at home. I do keep dark juices out of mine. Any dark juices I have I use a carto for.

So, I switch back and forth between my eGo tank and the cartos. I have not used any of my 510 atties in months now. But, I keep them on hand for when I want to drip. I do like dripping now and then but simply have been too lazy lately..... LOL.

Stored my ego tank system after 2 days and 4 refills. Convenient, good vapor, but the fully muted "plastic" taste was the decision factor for me. Back to drippin on my 306 and using CE2 xl clearomizers, good vapor, great flavor but waiting 2 weeks for the CE3's to launch. I know I know could be duds but thats what we all get sucked into....trial and error until we have the money for a good drip atty and a VV mod!!! Until then I'll keep burning my eyes with my computer screen in the dark and blowing huge clouds of yummy cotton candy juice at it..LOL!

I've used the Type B for a few weeks and so far the vapor and taste have been excellent. The flavor may be slighted muted compared to dripping, but to me it's negligible. The throat hit is decent, but definitely not as good as dripping. I just ordered a LR atty, so I'm thinking that will up the TH a little bit. The convenience of it on a 1000 MAH battery and not having to constantly fill it outweighs any of the cons. I've had no leaking at all and don't do anything special. Just pop in the tank until it clicks and vape away. I've tested it by storing it upside down and that also doesn't cause any leaking.

I bought it from Cignot, which definitely has genuine Joye products and top notch customer support, easily the best of any supplier I've used. I have a few friends who also have it, and haven't ran into any leaking problems so far.

So true. To avoid leaks and vape all day I use the eGo 1000mah + Vapemate by SuperTmanufacturing + Boge 2.0 ohm cartos. I DIY my juice so all in all it runs me about $25 a month unless one of the eGo batteries die and then I have to buy a replacement. The only thing I may consider is the eGo Booster which would turn my eGo battery into a VV battery if I wanted to experiment with SR cartos at 3.0 ohm.

I have several months of outstanding performance from the Ego-T Type B Large Tank. The flavor obviously can't be compared to dripping, but I have no desire to go to that much work to vape. Currently, I'm enjoying Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartomizers on the Ego-T, and they win by 3 ml in juice capacity. Flavor and vapor production are neck and neck. In either configuration, the Ego-T is a top contender at a reasonable price that average folks can afford.

Hate:
1. Hate the 650mah battery that typically is sold with this unit. After two weeks you realize this 650 mah doesn't cut it.
2. You have to puncture the almost-punch out hole in the refillable plastic tanks.
3. Refilling tanks is best done with syringes, its less messy than popping the cap. Popping the caps on the tanks
means you either have to get messy with ejuice and imo wears the tanks out faster (granted the tanks are like $0.90 each and last for months on end)

Love:
1. I successfully quit analogs with the Ego-T. (I was NOT successful quitting with the silver Bullet! Too much work)
2. I can take my Ego-T anywhere and im always good for a full day of vaping!
3. It just vapes!
4. the Type B LR can create tastes out of your juice that other atty's just can't do! I think its the combination of low power and low resistance that doesnt sizzle out the juice too much, but just enough.
5. the optional 1000mah battery. Get two. Always keep one on charge! They are awesome, i mean, super awesome.
6. the Type B LR atty for the Ego-T, it is as good as people rave about it.
7. Did i mention i quit successfully on teh Ego-T?
8. The Ego-T's small size and consistent performance has caused at least 5 other people i knwo to get interested in E-cigarettes. The Silver Bullet? Not in your life would regular smokers think the Silver Bullet is the way for them.

All in all, I LOVE the Ego-T. Does it require you to wash your atty out? Yes. Is it awesome? Yes!

I really like the battery of the ego-t, I've had mine for a week and only charged it once. Ive experienced leaks but they are very very tiny nothing i cant handle. But I think that if you are expecting an ecig that will work right out of the box and no maintenance than I wouldnt recommend. I spent so much time fiddling with the atomizer this past week and I broke 1 of them messing around with 1. good thing it came with 2. Anyways I am now using a 510 Boge LR cartomizer with the ego-t battery and it is amazing!! imo though i think the ego-t attydoes produce a lot of vapor and really strong throat hit but the flavor is minimal and the vapor is cold.

Pro's: Love the big 1000mah batteries

Con's: Muted flavor, leaking, too much fiddling, inconsistant hits.

Hands down, I love their batteries because you can shut them off. Other than that, I'm not a t-tank fancat.

I won't say I've coompletely changed my mind on this tank just yet. But, after reading a few tips on different threads I gave the tank another try last night and made it through an entire tank without any drips/leaks. I still used an 80vg/20pg juice...I'm not going to change my juice preference to something thinner just to get this to work, but it seemed to do ok. The biggest difference was I kept it horizontal when I wasn't using it instead of standing on end.Towards the end of the tank I kept watching and waiting for the flood but it never came. Was it the laying it down that made the difference or did I happen to just pick a "good" tank this time? I dunno. But at least it's encouraging enough that I'm not gonna toss the whole system just yet.
What I'm curious about though is I was at home the whole time using this tank. What happens when I'm out and about and can't keep it parallel to the ground the whole time? Till I can find that out, I'm still going to be pretty cautious taking it anywhere.
And on a side note, as opposed to the new Sapphire, which IMO muted the flavor by about 85%, the flavor reduction on the egoT is negligible. I was using an 80vg/20pg Cola from Rockstar, along with the LR EgoT, and it had one heck of a kick.

I also think the muted flavor thing depends a lot in what you like. I researched a lot before buying mine and ordered additonal LR attys, both type a and type b with the standard kit. I haven't had problems with any. Not even Std atty. No leaks, except when I let my brother borrow it for trying it, but he tends to tear things apart inconsciously, out of boredom.
I actually prefer the cooler vapor for chain vaping, hotter one makes my throat sore.
