Loves to leak

Finger over the air hole is a bit of a myth. Even if you have the lower hole covered, the Chimney cap is still open to allow equalization.:)

it's interesting you mention this. The kayfun lite documentation, does mention 2 ways of filling. The 1st one being the top fill method, so it seems the manufacturer isn't advising against it. Furthermore, the top fill is a straight forward process, there is no mention of putting finger over air hole etc.

On the two clones I have the fill screw is to close to the chimney base. They were always leaking from the fill hole. I took it apart to build again and noticed it when the base wouldn't come off without removing the fill screw. The only way I could get them not to leak was put the chimney base on after the fill screw was all the way in. I'm not sure about covering the fill hole when top filling. Someone mentioned it so I tried it and it worked the first time and no leaks. After that I just repeated the same steps that worked before, it saved them from going into the garbage.
