Hi and welcome to ECF. Don't let anyone get you down. I have tried blu and I love how easy they are, also love the taste. And I will still use them from time to time. After a while you may want to change your setup and we can help with that. If you don't, that's great too. Do whatever makes you feel good and helps you. Good luck & vape ON:vapor:

welcome Dreamlover, and congrats on making the switch!

i used blu too when i first started out- i thought they smelled amazing, but felt like i wasnt getting a decent hit out of it. i guess it is because they are 100% VG (vegetable glycerin), and its PG (Propelyne Glycol) that carries the flavor better and gives you that 'throat hit'. i use a 50/50 PG/VG mix now and i like it.

one thing to think about, are you actually using disposables like the title of your post says? cause that would be really expensive! you'd be throwing away a whole battery every time. blu does make a rechargable, and you buy replacement cartridges for it... which would be cheaper than disposables but even that is a little expensive by our standards. most of us buy eliquid in bottles, and fill our own cartridges/tanks/devices, some of us even make our own juice which is dirt cheap.

anyway, im glad you at least found the ecigs, and are happy with them! thats amazing. and finding this place as well, feel free to ask as many questions as you have.

Welcome to the forum!

One thing most here are hard core against is furthering the Financial success of the Tobacco companies at the expense of persons Health and welfare.
Unfortunately the Tobacco companies have realized we are taking a stand and have once again found a way to cash in. They all have or are working to release their own version of e-cig.
Big Tobacco is also lobbying hard to have all but THEIR form of e-cig(disposable) Banned.

Most of Us have moved past the Grasp and have no intention of ever again supporting Big tobacco in any form.

After a bit if reading and internet search, you will come to find many setups the not only rival but Far exceed the Disposable.

I started one step up from you. Never had the disposable. Just didn't make since to me to add to the Waste chain and repurchase at the high cost. I got the cig-a-like kits M401 then a 510 kit. Both rechargeable with replaceable flavor cartridges. Both paid for themselves in that they ran about $60 and I spent that on a Carton of Smokes. Each lasted about the equivalent of 2 cartons before I moved on to something that actually worked and controlled my need for Nicotine.

Never look at you purchase as Costing you. In the end, It is saving you(in many ways)
Personally This became a hobby and in the past year I have collected about $2k in gear and a few hundred in Flavors
Difference is - BUTTS go in the Garbage - Gear is still here:) so I do not feel I am throwing money away and I have things I can continue to use and explore.

Okay, enough for now. Don't want to scare you away.

Congratulations! I too started with Blu disposables and I also enjoyed the flavor and vapor production. However, I soon learned that there were more cost effective ways of kicking the habit (finding this forum was a big step forward there).

There are some starter kits that you should look into.

This is a good one, from one of the most respected vendors in the business:

DV eGo-T Starter Kit - Stainless - 1100mah

Here's another one, which is actually a little cheaper:

ElectronicStix.Com · Kanger EVOD 650mAh Starter Kit

If you're a fan of the Blu flavor, you can buy liquid directly from the same company that supplies Blu

Smoke Juice Johnson Creek Smoke Juice

I liked Blu's classic tobacco flavor, and found (via this forum) that their Red Oak Domestic is almost identical to Blu's classic. I'm not sure which of their menthol flavors goes into Blu's, but I'm pretty sure it's also from the Red Oak line (PG free).

PG is Propylene Glycol. VG is Vegetable Glycerin. Both are FDA approved for human consumption and are used in a wide variety of foods, household items, personal care items, etc. PG allows more throat hit (that punch you get when inhaling). VG masks it. PG liquids are thinner, VG liquids are thicker. Many liquid vendors vary the PG/VG blends based on their flavor profiles and what they're trying to achieve.

And pay no mind to who makes what anymore. The only agendas that are worthwhile here are those that help folks get off of those nasty, smelly coffin nails.

Congrats on quitting the stinkies buddy!! There has been alot of good advice given(and some idiotic comments) but i just wanted to throw this at you to save you some money and get more out of your disposables if disposables is where you wanna stay for now. WhiteSmoke makes a better disposable ecig in my opinion. you get 300-400+ puffs from one and if you buy a 10pack they are only 3bux a piece.

Buy Electronic Cigarettes | Disposable & Rechargeable | White Cloud

But as with anything, these are just my opinions in the hopes that they help someone out.

Another question, is it important safety wise, that the liquid inside be US made, as opposed to made in China?
I do want to stick to a simple disposable, I'm a girly girl, and just like having one ready in my purse. I don't want to fool around with kits. And I don't vape daily, so cost is not a factor. But safety is.

Thank you, in advance!

The e-liquid is your choice - biggest problem is matching your taste and their recipe. American or foreign Shop branded and good reputation to get good quality.

You really should consider this in White or Silver. Joyetech E-roll

Decent Pricing and I have used/trust this Vender.
E-liquid - selection - https://www.sharp-smoker.com/E-liquid-Because-Taste-Matters-s/60.htm
but other Venders may be cheaper. I now DIY my preferences.

Somewhere out there
I bought a Blu disposable to try it out, actually I like the feel of it and the battery life is good. I did not care for the flavor tho, BUT if they work for you that is fabulous! What ever you need to keep vaping and not smoking is perfect. Some others are just saying there are other products out there besides blu to try. Njoy also makes a favorite disposable, Flings makes a good disposable, but they don't last as long as blu did for me. Anyway lots to choose from for vaping, but use what works for you. bnrk

I'm so confused, I have been reading posts but don't understand, most of what is being said. Newbie here, sorry. Why is buying Blues bad, please explain. I only like disposables and they said they were made in the USA, so I thought that was a good thing? Also I'm confused about Glycerine VS Propylene glycol.

if you really like blu's go to there website and get a starter kit.lot cheaper than buying local.
dont throw your cartimizers away, they are refillable.(cartimizer=flavor cartridge)
after my initial equipment cost.its about 0.70 cents to refill a cartimizer.
compare that to average $7.50 per pack of smokes here in minnesota.
i was a 2 pack a day smoker.

It's not that important. In fact, the e-cig that you're using (and the variations thereof that we are) were actually patented by a Chinese pharmacist whose father was dying of cancer. The major Chinese liquid manufacturers, Dekang and Hangsen, have very strict quality control procedures that are at least as good as the boutique and country kitchen vendors in the US.

Johnson Creek, the US-based supplier of flavor for Blu, has met the standards for ISO:9000 certification. If you're comfortable with Blu's flavor, Johnson Creek is pricey but very good. Their liquids are those that I refuse to run out of, but I also refuse to run out of Dekang's Desert Ship flavor, so there's that.

Don't be intimidated by the "kit" designation. There's really very little to assemble. You fill the tank, you attach it to the battery and you're good to go. The Kanger Evod kit that I linked earlier is a solid performer. If you like the flavor of the Blu, you will love the flavor you get from that kit and a tankful of Johnson Creek. You're getting a nice cloud of vapor from the Blu disposable. You'll get a magnificent cloud with that Evod system.

Edit to add: The Evod system I linked to has a very small form factor. It's shorter, but thicker than the Blu disposable. But it will fit in your purse quite easily, and it's small form factor makes it a good fit for many female hands.

Safety wise, there's very little difference. Performance wise, there's a huge difference and you will appreciate it.

hi there..congrats in making the switch.. i too am a new vaper
if u ever get less satisfaction in disposables e-cigs..dont give up on vaping because there are lots of different delivery systems and e-liquids
please do check the supplier threads in ECF, there are a lot of reputable vendors with great products
in light of your question about USA made e-liquids, some people tend to prefer those since they have "better" QC and all
for me, i'm currently vaping halo's e-liquid which is claimed to be USA made and it taste great (www.halocigs.com)..JMHO
in my case, I find this vid quite helpful in understanding the basics of "e-cigarette" A PBusardo Video - Beginners Guide to E-Cigs and E-Cig Tech - YouTube
cheers! :toast:

Welcome! Blu was the only e-cig I had ever heard of, so I ended up with one of the disposables to "give it a try" and now I'm 2 months smoke-free! If they work for you and you don't mind the price, stick with it.

As others have said, though, there are many options out there :) I went with Halo 's G6 kit and e-juices, which are USA made, but feel like I've already outgrown the setup and have a "big" battery and some other fun stuff on the way. Regardless of how you proceed, you'll always have great support and resources on ECF.

I'm new too, and I also started by using the Blu disposables. I knew I wanted to quit, and I kept hearing so much about e-cigs, so I bought a Blu. Surprisingly, while it didn't "scratch the itch" it did calm the cravings. I didn't like the taste of the Blu, but it proved to me that e-cigs are worth looking into. I didn't realize so many other people have the same story as me!

I am now waiting on my G6 starter kit from Halo. :)
