In your experience, are the heat and performance profiles similar when using 28g vs twisted 32 in a 1(ish)Ω coil?
I know that the resistance is similar, but I'm wondering if the difference in contact area between the coil and wick causes a noticeable difference in vape. The twisted pair has less physical contact.

I will be able to experiment myself soon enough, co-ops are taking forever.

Thought? Input?

I've yet to understand the point of twisting the wires... Just lay them, untwisted, next to each other. You'll get more contact than you would with a single strand of 28 awg and WAY more than you'd get by twisting them.

Yep, that's what I was doing. 32 or 34 gauge wrapped in parallel on the bubble stone. No need for hot wrap. Must be same principle with what jasl90 is saying.

I used twisted 32 for about a month straight and just recently switched to 28 awg. I personally prefer 28 to twisted 32. 28 seem to taste better. Vapor is the same. And it's more resilient than the twisted 32. Twisted 32 is still flimsy compared to the 28, If you accidentally knock the 28 coil when removing the cap its still fine whereas the twisted 32 coil might need adjusting. I'm waiting for my .8 x .1 ribbon wire to come in which has similar resistance to 28 awg.

my experience is the exact opposite, i find twisted 32g coils last longer with less maintenance. They both vape about the same though at equal resistance.

I prefer the 28 gauge wire because I prefer to set up using a drill bit.....so I can take out the wick for easy maintenance. The twisted wire actually digs into the wick and tears it up. Also the twisted wire gunks up way faster than 28g wire. I just see no point to it. I only tried it when I was waiting for my 28g wire to arrive. Performance wise they are similar...I think the 28g wire tastes better IMO.

twisted 32g @.6ohm for me recently and it just gungs up too quickly, the gunk builds up in the crevices of the wire, I never seem to have good luck making a twistd wrap work. i prefer a 3/4 of 32 @1 ohm it lasts much longer and vapor seems to be just the same for me as a .6-.7ohm twisted. just my .02

I dont like twisted either. My sweet vg juices gunk the coil within hours of making a fresh twisted. They do better with light vg, but no thanks.
