Given that the carto is supposed to be 1.8 ohms, I believe this is a case where it is just not making good contact with positive post of the mod. Lowering the pin of the carto so that it makes proper contact will get everything back to normal.

Does the zmax read differently for low ohms vs no-ohms?

Sometimes with my vamo the center pin would short to the side, id get low ohm, take the head off, screw it back on, ohms read normal. Once i got a good read i would use it without issue. So its not ALWAYS a bad device, sometimes its just not a good one. If you cant get any ready but low ohm the head or carto etc is junk, not worth the risk to use it

And eGo style batteries DO in fact get stressed and DO have problems (usually when charging...particularly if they have the wrong charger, but with the proper ones too.) So stressing the circuitry is not a wise thing to do. That's why they have built-in safety features.

The ego is probably the second most common ecig device in history and I have never seen a report of an overdraw failure. That's because egos have fairly limited regulator/switchgear. Reports of failed egos are pretty much always charging issues.

:)

The question is ....does stressing the circuits cause any problems LATER...like while charging? And I don't claim to know the answer. However, I do know some of those types of batteries do blow switches when shorted or over-amped. Hence the earlier post.

The concern is overblown. You won't "stress" the circuitry because you can't.

Right, that's what keeps them from overdrawing. (Incidentally this is the answer the OP should have gotten, not "you might blow up.")

These ego charging failures invariably come from devices which were used well within their limits (consumer atomizers).

lol this sounds like a bad atty or it's not making a connection with the center pin.

does anything else give you the low warning? or just this one atty?

toss it and just use something else a lo warning on a carto is not the same ballpark as Ultra low ohm vaping. doesnt matter whats written on it many cheapo coils are notorious for being way off the rated resistance. LOL
