Low Resistance Atty on a 3.7v Passthrough?

Hello,

I ordered 2 1000 mAh eGos yesterday (upgrading from my standard 510s). I also ordered a 1.5 ohm atomizer. If I understand right, it's fine to use the LR atty on the eGos, but I have a 510 PT as well, and I was wondering if I can use the LR atty on it. It's one of the Joye 510 PTs that have the 3.7v, 180 mAh(?) battery-in-a-box in the middle of the USB cord.

I read that it's not advised to use an LR atty on a battery that has less than 600 mAh (or something like that), because it will shorten the life of the battery. Since I'm never using it unplugged, will it matter?

Thanks a lot! I've been using my 510s for about two weeks now and haven't had an analogue that whole time. (And before that I was smoking 1-2 packs of Newport 100s a day...)

Its not recommended to use low resistance atty's on passthroughs. Can mess up the passthrough and your computer.

Thanks Brian. I've been a little worried about having my passthrough running through my PC, so I have an AC adapter coming as well. I guess I won't really need the PT so much with 2 1000 mAh batteries anyways.

There are concerns about LR atties on eGo type batteries as well. Here's one of the many threads on the issue.

Some folks have fried their batteries using LR. Others seem to use them without having any problems. Just be aware you're increasing the risk of an early battery failure.
