Low resistance limit on zmax mini?

Hi all,

I bought a zmax mini recently that is advertised as being able to handle 1.2 ohms or greater and up to 5 amps. I'm using an igo-w dual coil build that measured in at 1.1 ohms. At 3 volts, the lowest setting on the zmax, I'd only be running 2.7 amps or so. What is the purpose of the low resistance limit if amps are at a safe level? Is there any way to disable this function?

There is no way--or reason--to defeat one of the most important safety features of a regulated mod like the Zmax.

The purpose of the feature is to avoid putting the battery into a high drain condition that it was not designed to handle, thus preventing an unfortunate incident of thermal runaway and possible explosion.

The only way to use a lower ohm coil is to use an unregulated mechanical mod, but you had better know the specs of the batteries you'll be using. You should also get a good multimeter and learn how to use it.

Not on a high horse at all. But I am a safety freak and your post in a New Members forum alarmed me.

If you have high quality, high drain batteries and you want to use low resistance coils, your only option is a mechanical mod.

Sorry to come across as arrogant. I'm not.
