In general a mech is just as good at lower watts as it is at higher watts. I've got Kayfuns and Russians in the 1.5 to 2.0 ohm range I run on mechs all the time. They start out strong at full charge then slowly lower down in vapor output, just like when sub-ohming, but the charge curve is much longer, example my 0.5ohm dripper last couple hours, where my Russian at 1.8ohms lasts me all day long before needing a battery change. At work I carry two mods minimum with me, one either my IPV2 or my Sig Mini 30w, the other is either my Pisces with a kayfun/Russian or my Brass Nemesis with a kayfun/Russian as my backup.

I run mine between 8 and 15 watts depending on the coil. Its all about heat flux. Plenty of people use a mech all day at low power levels. The amount of vapour drops as the battery discharges, but this happens much more slowly at a low wattage. I easily get a full day out of a single 18650.

My problem is I like high end don't mind dropping 400 on a mod I would like to get a DNA 200 prob the 133 ver but not a lot of high ends out there there is hobo but you have to wait for the stars to align just correctly to win a shot at buying one in looking at reo but what I have seen on there web site I don't really like the looks of the woods I would like to see something more exotic. So right now I'm looking at nicomods with the sx350j but we will see I would just like some more high end options
And with the hobo you can't change your own battery so that's a deal bracker for me

Yes, they are, but with a mech, you're varying your build to get a good vape instead of bumping the power up and down. Something like a Kayfun, Russian, or Squape running around 1.0 - 1.3 ohms or so makes for a nice, relaxing vape on a mech with good battery life (for me, at least).

200W box mods are a different deal altogether than a low power build on a mech. They both have advantages and disadvantages. Having tried several different setups I prefer a low power build on a mech, I don't get or want massive clouds with my setup. But it works for me all day every day with no issues. For me reliability and battery life are more important than clouds.........

Not only can they work very well for low wattage vaping, I personally feel every vaper should have at least one good mech in their collection.

Any electric device can fail, mechs have no chips or wiring to fail or come loose. Proper care and cleaning they will last a lifetime.

I started using a mechanical long before high wattage sub ohm vaping even existed. Even remember when 2 ohms was considered "low resistance".
Still today an old HH-357 is one hell of a vape.

You have a long memory... when I started LAST YEAR, anything below 1.5ohms was considered ULTRA LOW ohm, and the ONLY SAFE way to do less than 1ohm was MECHANICALLY.

That said yes you can vape High ohms with a mech. I rarely vape at less than .9ohm. Although I do REGULATE my mech when I vape at 1.3ohm or higher, with a Kick. Currently I am switching back and forth between 2 Kayfuns. One built at 1.1 ohm run mechanically and the other at 1.5ohms kicked to about 12watts. I am not sure I could tell you which was which, with fresh batteries and blind folded. Except the kicked atty will be giving about the same vape as it started with after a couple hours and the clean atty will be starting to loose power.

Are mechs any good at low watts are thy mostly for high watts sub ohm coils

Of course they are fine at low watts.

The advantages of my mechs are the simplicity; the adjustable centerpin; they don't cutoff from a small shift in the battery; with my vamo, sometimes with would cutoff, then I have to press 5 times to turn on then wait another 5 seconds for some silly 'hello' or 'system on' message to scroll across the !@#$% screen.

With my kick modules there is not 5 click press to turn on and no waiting for scrolling messages.

    I don't have a V4, but a KF just begs for a Nemesis.
