I plan to lower my nic level soon. For the past 5 months I've been at 18mg and my juice supplier allows me to purchase at any nic level. I already have a bottle of 16mg ready to go, and i plan on lowering it in 2mg increments.

My question is for people that have lowered to zero. Do you notice the lack of throat hit? I really like the throat hit that 18mg provides. I'm hoping i won't even notice the difference because I'm stepping down so slowly.

I've vaped zero nic juice in the store before, and the throat hit was non existent. But maybe that's just because I'm so used to 18 . Thoughts?

I do use 0 nicotine at times, and you are right the the big TH that I get with nic juice is not there using my usual set ups that are that way because a good portion of the TH comes from the nicotine so the mechanical factors that increase it are 'dialed down' so I am not thrown against the wall with a TH (I like it and wanted but not to that degree). When I do use 0 nic juice I use a setup that gives me a much warmer vape, higher voltage and juice flavor that adds to the TH feeling. That works for me but people experience things differently and what changes to make are different. I dialed into a good setup for a 0 nic TH set up by watching YouTube Vaper review videos/blogs and trying things like carts and other accessories that the review through increased the TH or obviously it did because they used the rest of their setup the same and vaped the same juice but ended up being unable to talk because of the TH. Getting that accessory made it so the TH was electric when I used no nicotine. Its a setup I can't use when vaping nicotine because I can't take a combo of a nic hit AND one that is then dialed up electronically.

So what is the secret set-up? TIA

I purchased a "Dream Bt804" and found the device to be so efficient in it's delivery of nicotine, I was forced to reduce my juice from 12mg to 6mg. With 0 nic inside, the volume and density of the vapour delivers a TH, but not like you would get with even a few mg (1-3) of nic.

So now I love and hate this device. If I load it with my normal 6mg, I can get to OD levels much more quickly than I like.
but I don't think it is time for me to kick the nic, the 0 just doesn't scratch the itch yet.
Happy at .06% in the rest of my devices.

Have fun

this is why I haven't been able to get below 12mg.. I tried some 6mg and even that was too weak for me..

I'm hoping in the next 6 mo's or so I can step it down without being bothered too much by it.

Now that I've been at 12mg for about a month.. I can't even handle the TH that 24-26mg gives me.. so maybe thats a good thing.

I've stepped from 24 to 6 in 8 months. I still get a tough, choke me up, throat hit here and there. You can dial a higher TH with voltage increase to a extent. But if you do it slow enough its like quitting ciggs for a week and that first one gives you a buzz. Same thing your tolerances for nic becomes lower. I'm not 100% sure about 0mg but I know I have somewhat of a TH on 6mg still. I will say though that I'm going through a lot more juice with 6mg then I was with 12mg. Im not sure if its lack of nic or I'm just tinkering and vaping more then normal (I've gotten lot of new toys lately)

From some things I've read, I've heard that once you get down to 6mg, you can pretty much take it or leave it. Like you no longer get insane withdrawal symptoms if you haven't had any nicotine for awhile. My goal isn't to necessarily stop vaping completely, but I would like to be able to go all day at work without it, and maybe just vape when I'm at home.

For those of you at 6mg, do you still crave it? And by crave, I'm talking physically, not mentally.

I dont really crave it. I mostly vape using my RBA so I had to lower my nicotine because vaping it at 12 gave me the shakes.
I find that I can go hours without vaping even tho I really like my flavors. Ill more than likely continue to vape at 0 when I get to that point.

I imagine that when people step down nic levels, they (subconsciously) hit the PV harder, as the body tries to sustain same level of nicotine intake. I know some fancy mods can be plugged into a computer and you can monitor your intake, so I'd be curious how your intake changes as you step down. I eventually intend to step down as well so i'm wondering if this is something you've experienced?

I look both at the concentration and the number of mls/day.

I started at ~ 3ml of 24 mg/ml a day (~72mg/day). My tolerance dropped after about 6 months beginning my stepping down process. I also shifted from standard resistance to lower resistance, which seems to vaporize the liquid faster. I've been at ~ 4 ml/day of 8 mg/ml for about 8 months now (~ 32 mg/day). If/when my tolerance drops again, I'll decrease the concentration again.

I need the hand to mouth, warmth, and flavor. I'm not one of those people who can go days and forget to vape. When I'm busy, i go a reasonable amount of time and it only takes a puff or two to get rid of anything that feels like a physical craving. But if I'm not busy, i tend to have a PV in my hand :)

When going down to 0mg I did increase my vapor intake with each step down but eventually got back to normal levels. That is when I'd cut down again.
