lowering nicotine levels

I've got a question for anyone that has gone from higher nictoine to lower nicotine (or zero) juices.

I don't really plan to "quit", and I'm not looking at vapor as a stop smoking tool, but an alternative. One of things that I always said as a smoker was that I liked smoking. I like the taste, the feel, the hit.

I've been cigarette free for two weeks now, and am currently going though about 1 - 1.5 18 mg cartomizers per day.

I would like to gradually reduce my nicotine intake. I've got this vague notion that one day I will be a casual daily vapor user at 0mg of nicotine.

So my question is, do the 0mg - 6 mg juices deliver the same vapor production, throat hit and general feel of their higher nicotine counterparts? I'm currently using menthol and a small assortment of fruit flavors, if that make a difference.

If you leave everything else the same but change the nic level, throat hit will be the only thing that will change.

Now if you lower the nic level, with the flavors that you are currently vaping, menthol would probably be the flavor that will allow you to get to the lowest nic level and still provide the sensation that you need. As far as fruit flavors Grapefruit might provide the same results, but menthol would still be tops.

there are other ways to provide a throat hit with low nic, but I will leave that open for members that actually have done it...

Good luck and welcome to ECF

If your zero nic juice has a strong enough flavor you might not even miss the TH tbh - I use one which is very strong and it feel just like a TH (even though there isn't one..) because the flavor is a knock out one lol.
I think for sure start off with heavy flavors to go no nic on, because I think you'll notice the difference a lot less than with a lighter fruitier flavor. That's just my opinion though.
I'm no way all no nic yet, I stil use 12mg juices regularly - but I do enjoy the no-nic chain vapes on my Butter rum (TV version) cos its so nice :)

yeah I am on the same page with you
I just started vaping and am loving it

I also loved smoking, but I didn't like that it was so bad for me so Im very glad that they came out with these things...

anyways, I like the idea of weening myself off nicotine with my vaporizer.
so I will be working on that in a little while after I get used to everything...

I got I got some juice at 24 ml for my switch from analogs. and some 16 as well, so Im going to step down to 16, eventually, and keep going until I get down to 0.

Im going to try and study the diy liquid forum for when i get to 0 cause I want to make some flavored vitamin e-liquid with throat hit :)

I started out at 24 and then 12 and now I am at 6mg. I have to agree with CaptJay, as far as the strong flavor and TH. Most of my juices have strong flavors and I do not feel as though I am losing out on any TH. They are just as satisfying as they were at 24 mg. The juices which have a sweeter, light flavor, it just takes some getting use to because the TH is lighter. The vapor production is the same, no loss there. Most of my juices come from Tasty Vapor which offers a 0 nic doubler in the same flavor as all his juices which equals no loss in flavor when you cut down the mg.

I would like to gradually reduce my nicotine intake. I've got this vague notion that one day I will be a casual daily vapor user at 0mg of nicotine.

I'm going down that same path. I'm working thru my 12mg liquids now, after running thru my initial rounds of 16mgs. I'm not sure I'm ready to make the drop to 6 or 8 yet.

there are other ways to provide a throat hit with low nic, but I will leave that open for members that actually have done it...

I'm curious about what that may be?

Well I have heard that cutting with pga will help add the needed throat hit, BUT and that's a big BUT I have not tried it and don't really like passing second hand information with out trying it out myself.....

I am not saying it works or not... but i thought to address your curiosity .... if you want more information (if it doesn't end up getting provided here) just go to the bottom of this page and you will find a google search bar that will filter its searches to ECF threads only..

Oh... nice!!

I didn't know there was such a convenient way to search just ECF via Google's search engine built into the pages here. I'm guessing Google's search engine will do a faster/better job of it than the ECF's search feature.
