Ok, so I am, for the most part, a nicotine lightweight. Before I began vaping, I smoked a maybe a pack every 2 weeks, and I could get a significant buzz off of one cigarette. The first juice I used was incredibly low quality and quite disgusting; it was Vapin Plus cappuccino flavored, with 1.6% nicotine content (I'm assuming that's equivalent to 16 mg nicotine, which I've heard is between medium-high strength). I did not achieve any kind of nicotine feeling or even relaxation after an hour of heavy use; it just upset my stomach. I then purchased 2 flavors from MBV that were 24 mg nicotine (i think Strawberry Shortcake and Spring Break) which I allowed to steep for 2 weeks before using. I definitely noticed a nicotine effect from those; however, the vapor is far too harsh for my likes. After an hour of not using it I can't vape it without coughing, and I have to build myself up from smaller hits to bigger hits. Not to mention it seems to ruin the flavor, in contrast to lower nicotine content juices. I'm using the iTaste MVP 2 with iClear 16b tanks, but am soon upgrading to the MVP 20 watt with either a kanger protank 3 or aspire nautilus. My question is, why can't I achieve the "nicotine feeling" from a 16 mg juice? Is it just because how low quality that Vapin Plus juice is? My friend who is more tolerant to nicotine than I am can get a buzz off of 6 mg juice. I don't understand it.

everybody's body processes nic differently and at different rates.

vaping, it takes longer for the nic to enter the bloodstream VS analogs due to all the chemicals not being present.

personaly "Vapin plus" i think is a low grade brand of juice, i wouldnt be suprized if the bottle was mislabled at 1.6% or 16mg, when its actualy 12mg or 0.

id sudjest trying another brand at 16mg, and make the assumption from there - weather or not to lower/higher your dose. dont *think* you have to use s specific number just because your new, use what *feels* right.

when i first quit smoking, i was vaping juice at 18-24mg, the 18mg felt like air compared to the 24 at that time. year later im down to using 8mg, anything over 12mg feels like straight pepper.

Thank you for the input, I think i'm going to try juice from ITC at 18 mg and see how that is.

hmm, before one can really get the ideal nic level. one must first find their ideal juice blend ratio of VG/PG. While some harshness can be attributed to high nic level, most likely it's an aversion or intolerance to high PG and sometimes high VG juice ratios.

I find high PG juice way to harsh, gives me a scratchy throat, and not enjoyable to vape. Found my purrefrance at 70-80% VG. once that is figured out, it's much easier to dial in the proper nic level for you.

Then, depending on you vape gear, watts vaped at, quality of atomizer and such, will ultimately determine nic mg level. Using an pt 2 and ego, I needed 24 mg nic juice to not smoke. Once I went the way of the rba, getting more and better vape, had to drop it down to 18 mg nic. Then, once my builds got better, and watts went up, nic level had to come down once again. Now vape 12 mg nic juice, and almost need to drop it some more. :D But then was a 30 year 1.5 pad smoker, when turned vaper.:D

To me, steeping is overrated and verges on the edge of vapernet legend. :D If it tastes like chit when you first get it, steeping will just produce a better developed chit. Sure, flavor will develop, but only to a point.

Vape long and Prosper.!!!

Hi YK42 and welcome to ECF!

Have you looked into WTA (Whole Tobacco Alkaloid) juices? They have more of the ingredients from tobacco than just nicotine, and some folks find that the extra ingredients help.

Happy Vaping!
