I currently use the Infinity at the lowest voltage setting, however, I'm looking for a cooler smoother vape with as little throat hit as possible, I use the vortex 808 clear-o-mizer. (with a 510-808 adapter)

I'm looking for a slick looking PV that can do low voltage 3v or whatever the minimum is to make vapor. I hate throat hit and that burnt taste that i get if i crank it up.

I know most shops seem to pride theirselves in high voltage but It just is nasty to me, I like the cool cold vapor like you get from a hookah.

Thanks

Dave

I vape high-voltage (10 watts)... and my vapes are nice and cool. As a rule, PG yields more throat hit... so up your VG level. Also, the more nicotine, the more throat hit. Maybe drop down? Last, this "burning" flavor/sensation isn't really normal... I think you may have an issue with your juice delivery...

What ohms is the Vortex carto? If you got that 1.2ohm thing I have no idea what will get a cool vape out of that. Standard cartomizers are around 2.8-3.1 and high voltage cartomizers are 3.4 or higher? Why don't you just use higher ohm cartos on your current PV? The volts are not what makes the heat - it's the combination of battery volts and carto/atty ohms - lower ohms make more heat and higher volts make more heat. Shouldn't a VV device be used with standard and HV cartos, not LR?

And what is your lowest voltage? Any idea? I think an Ego is 3.4v but maybe 3.7v right off the charger. Slim 510 is .2 lower. To get any lower than that you need to go to a super mini or something. My old M401 seems to be about 2.8v. But you would kill a slim battery with an LR carto or atty. They can't take the fast hot power drain.

The Vortex 808 is 2.7ohm The infinity goes down to something like 3.2v, ived used the vortex after trying several others and it gave the best vapor and flavor even with my volcano inferno but when i poped it on my infinity and cranked down the voltage even lower it got much better, but i think i can get even better.. if i get the combo voltage/ohm's right..

Have you considered trying 18mg nicotine? I started on 18mg. It still has nice TH. And I found it was pretty easy to drop nicotine level over a weekend, or the more stretched out way would be to fill a carto or two with 24mg but keep topping them off the 18mg.

If the PV you have goes down to 3.2 then that is basically it. That is as low voltage as a slim 510, lower than a KR808D-1. Try 50/50 juice or drop the nic? Or are the Vortex cartos available in any higher ohms?

Hi Dave, I'm another that likes cool vapor and good flavor and I highly recommend the duel coil cartomizer from Smok Tech. It divides the current over two coils so that neither gets super hot but you're getting vapor from both. The end result is more vapor at any given temperature than a single coil. Another benefit is they don't singe the filler. Hit them with 5v if you like it hot and less if you don't. Search utube for Smok Tech for some videos.

I've found that nicotine level is the largest measure when it comes to throat hit, my father smokes 36 i smoke 24 mg, and i cough whenever i smoke his but I get a nice smooth drag off of mine. Also it depends on the juice, fruity flavors don't hit hard, same with soda style drinks, but some tobacco and menthols can really kick you in the ....
