LR atomizers for eGo-c: is this normal?

It was coming time to buy some new atomizers for my eGo-c (type A). Since I was thinking that I'd like a bit more vapor and stronger throat hit, I figured I'd try some of the low-res heads.

When I receive them and opened up the box, the first thing I noticed was there seemed to be a small amount of what looked like condensation on the inside of the film over the wick end of the atomizers in the package. Upon removing one, I noticed that the wick tube looked almost like it was packed with some sort of grease. Needless to say, it took a good bit of vaping to get to the point where I could taste the flavor in my e-juice.

Secondly, it seems to be burning the liquid too quickly. If I go several minutes between vapes, that first hit is pretty good, but the second always tastes burnt. I'm using 24mg 50/50 juice. Should I be using a higher PG or VG content for LR atomizers?

Thanks.

First, the greasy liquid you are referring to is called primer. Atomizers are shipped with primer to make sure the coils stay wet and dont rust or anything like that. As far as your juice goes, it is totally up to you. I know when I drip on attys, I use 100%vg juices. This gives me insane amounts of vapor but no throat hit. Maybe try a 70vg/30pg mix and see how you like it. Now to the atty... I read somewhere that you werent suppose to use lr atomizers on ego sized batteries because they would eventually fry the battery or something like that. With that being said, I had egos at one time, and lr attys are all I used on them and I never had any problems. Let me know if I can be of any assitance.

I hadn't heard not to use the LR atomizers. These are JoyeTech branded and made specifically for the eGo-c Type-A, but I suppose they could be meant for the 900mAh and up batteries. I'm still using what I believe is 600mAh that came with it.

I was curious about the primer, as I didn't recall the original atomizers looking like that. Good to know it's normal. Is there a best practice for burning through that stuff on a new atomizer? It really tastes bad. :p

most new attys take a few primer puffs to get through the icky-ness. You could try dripping 3-5 drops of your eliquid on the new LR with the drip tip off, then push the button on the battery, watch the atty fizzle, blow out the vapor while the liquid is vaping. Do this a few times and hopefully the icky will be gone. always keep your attys wet though! LR's especially require a lot of dripping. About 3 drops to every 6-8 puffs or so depending on your ejuice.

Happy vaping. Hope that helps.

eGo Cs were designed or any tank system for that matter with a liquid viscosity no greater than 70/30 (PG/VG ratio) at 50/50 you are experiencing wicking problems that are readily apparent when using a juice hog (read LR atty). Decrease your viscosity and you should be good to go. If you do not want to decrease your viscosity then stick to SR. :)

I also use the LR's in my EGO-C. The first atty i used also had a bad taste.
After some research i found a tip for this problem that works for me. Try pushing the wick down a little into the atty, with a tooth pick or something. But no more than 1mm. I do this with every new atty i use and it works perfectly, preventing that burned taste after the first two drags.
