I just got 3 LR attys for my eGo and they get REALLY hot after just 2 draws, is this normal? I noticed that the battery also gets hot at the atty connection down to the button. At first I thought it was the battery but it does this with all my eGo batteries. I don't want this thing to blow up on me, has anyone else had a problem with this? Is this normal for the LR's

"LR" stands for Low Resistance. Low resistance means more current flowing through the circuit. More current, more watts, more heat.

Having said that, if your batteries are getting noticeably hot that's not a good thing. batteries do get warmer as they deliver current but they should not get too hot. I assume the eGo batteries are protected? In that case, the protection circuit *should* guard against over-current (drawing current at a rate greater than the battery was designed to deliver).

Didn't answer the question did it... You can expect things to warm up but they shouldn't get too hot. The atomizer I wouldn't worry about too much. Having an atomizer get hot enough to (almost) burn your fingers is not that uncommon and fine. Having a battery get hot enough to do that is uncommon and probably not good.

Hi skippy,
Just be a bit careful as the eGo's and LR atty's are NOTgeared to be taking long puffs off of.
What I mean is the longer you hold the button on the batt and the longer you drag off the atty, the HOTTER both will get.
I usually take a 6 to 8 second drag off a reg atty but when I use the LR atty, I take a 3 to 5 second drag and no longer. I also wait a bit more between drags as it gives the atty and batt a little time to cool down.
I have done this at first with my 1.5ohm atty (LR) and my eGo battery got real hot by the button (my srags were 6 to 8 seconds and hardly any cooling off time).
When I went to 3 to 5 second drags and a bit longer between my drags, the batt got warm but never too hot.
I hope this helps.
