So I recently got an ego kit from Puresmoker.com that came with one regular atty and one LR atty. Until today I've just stuck with my regular atty's because just using these on the ego was a huge improvement over using them on the 510 and I figured I'd wait till I had some more/better juices to try my LR.

Well, it occurred to me that I had some English Toffee flavored liquid made from ECOpure liquid from Cignot, that has never vaped very well on my 510 or even on my ego with the regular atty.

I tried this on my LR atty with my eGo, and WOW!!! I don't ever want to go back! I mean holy crap, more vapor better flavor, big throat hit, just incredible!! I am sooo impressed.

But then I get this out of this world harsh burnt hit that I swear about killed me. Like when you run dry on a regular atty times 100 (oh lord, I just did it again, YUCK! I swear it makes me want to cry when it happens, lol).

Every time this happens I take the cart off to refill it but there's still plenty of liquid in it. I feel like I'm wasting my liquid :( I'm in love with the way my LR atty vapes, but it kills me when I get this horrible burnt hit.

The worse part is that there's no warning. The hit before the nasty is just fine. No hint of burnt taste or harshness at all.

Does this always happen, or I am doing something wrong? Any advise?

I vote direct drip for LR attys.

I've been using cartos and I had a handful of LR cartos that all started to get a nasty taste after just a couple refills. The other day I decided to try my LR atty and just drip on it and I haven't switched back to the cartos yet lol.

I've yet to get a burnt taste with it. I drip about 3 drops, puff away, when the vapor seems a little less, I drip another 2 or 3 drops and continue. I'm switching between peach, hypnotic mist and banana so there's only a flavor bump on the first puff after I switch and they're all complimentary flavors so it's all good.

EDIT: I should add that I do take my regular cartos out for the day. I like to change flavors a lot and carrying around 10 bottles is just a PITA.

Hmmm.... I'm thinking it must be a wicking issue, because like I said, when I take the cart off and look it's still very full. Like if I press down on the filler a bit with a paper clip it pools still.

I also drip a few drops right on my atty every time this happens even if I refill, for the last few hours I've just been dripping and using an empty (no fill) cart since I don't have drip tips, but it seems 3 or 4 drops only last 5 or 6 drags and since I'm a constant vaper this is quite a pita. I tried switching back to my regular atty for a bit just to avoid the hassle, but after the LR the amount of vapor just isn't satisfying nor is the throat hit. :(

Guess I better get myself some drip tips. Till then, anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with the wicking issue?

Hi, Magz,

I can't speak to the dripping thing - I only drip when trying out a new flavor, but it does sound like a wicking issue. I never experience that harsh, dry taste that others describe.... So, a couple of questions and thoughts:

You're using a cart, right? Not a cartomizer? If so, what cart filler are you using?

I am using Joye L/R atty's on an Ego and polyfill with Highping's cart mod, which seems to eliminate any wicking issues for me. Highping's method might work for you, too. Also, I am a chain vaper but I rotate four different Ego's, taking only two pulls from each, so that the atty can cool and rest/rewick. I also always place/store my Ego's upright - cart up, battery down, which I think helps.

Of course, YMMV, but I hope my thoughts help....
