I'll try that... I actually feel a little dumb that I haven't tried that already LOLVaseline is petroleum based and not suitable for most seals. If your threads are rough the first thing I would do is take a small wire brush to them. Brush in the direction of the threads not against.
That sounds easy enough! Thank you!I would try cleaning it out first to see if it is grit in there or if it is just a crappy thread match. A Q tip with rubbing alcohol and get it nice and clean. You may need to use a few Q-tips until it wipes off completely clean. Do this for both the mod and the tank. And see if it still feels gritty when screwing it on. If it does, then the threads are not meshing well. Lube may make it easier, but there is no guarantee. I would recommend a light silicone or sewing machine oil for that application. Just put a dab on a clean Q-tip and apply.
is it the 510 thread or the threads that holds the tank together?
It's the threads that screw into the spot that holds the battery.
I think she may be talking about the battery cap threading.Just for future reference, those are the 510 threads. The mod <-> tank connection is called a 510 connection.

Wear through repeated use will eventually fix the grittiness problem but the metal is probably not the highest grade alloy, so they'll strip eventually.
Remember the old Vamo 1 and 2 510/eGo top? They were made of brass...
Yes! I'm hoping so, I did take a wire brush to it and it's a little better, but I'm sure it'll mesh better over time.I think she may be talking about the battery cap threading.
