Lung Hit

Thanks for the reply. What's pg level? Pretty girl?

That would be your Propylene Glycol. It's generally one of the 4 ingredients in your juice- Nicotine, Vegetable Glycerine (VG), and your flavoring. VG will give you a lighter hit but a lot of vapor, PG is more throat hit and less vapor. I always suggest starting at a 50/50 blend and moving out from there. Any reputable distributor would list the blend's contents

OK so high nic level and a 50 50 blend of PG and VG. Thanks.

Hi guys I'm brand new to vaping (4 days without a cigarette after 45 years) and I've got a question. What I miss the most about Camels is that filled-up feeling in the lungs one gets from taking a deep drag. Is there juice that can aproximate this feeling?

Like the others said the level of PG and nicotine will make a difference. I purchase my ejuice with 0mg nicotine and purchase a bottle of nicotine separately. Then I can mix in the exact amount of nic that I enjoy for a good hit.

Higher nicotine levels above 12mg will also give you a bit more of a throat feeling. What level are you at now? With vaping you may find a straight to lung inhale being the feeling you want rather than a mouth inhale or mouth to lung inhale.

I was at 18 but I'm moving to 24 I think. The cigarettes I smoked for decades (Camels) were high in nicotine.

No problem. And once you start getting more comfortable with flavors, you can start reducing your nicotine and really start rocking. I never suggest more than 18mg (or 1.8, 1.8%, whatever the site labels it as), because it generally crushes most flavors at that point. I started at 18, stepped down to 12, now I'm at 6 and loving it

I started at 36mg for the same reason. Not a camel smoker... some offbeat generic brand that smoked like Lucky Strikes non filter :)

And... depending on what gear/atomizer you use... a lower ohm coil helps. (in the 1.8 - 2.0 ohm).

Some other things that affect lung hit, besides higher nic or PG levels:
-vapor amount: anything that helps produce more vapor will give you more hit - variable wattage or variable voltage devices paired with low-resistance single coil or dual coil tanks/atomizers will produce more vapor and hit
-vapor-to-air ratio: this is harder to control on automatic devices. Manual devices will create the same amount of vapor regardless of how much air you are drawing, so if you draw more slowly, you get a higher vapor-to-air ratio and better hit. Auto devices can give more airy hits, and all devices/toppers have different air flow amounts
-flavor type - some flavors inherently have more hit than others, cinnamon or spicy flavors as well as menthol flavors generally have more hit than something like a lightly sweet flavor, there are so many flavors out there, all with varying effects on hit

When I first started vaping, I vaped 100% vg - 24mg nic juice. The higher nic made up for the fact that vg has less throat hit than pg. I've gradually lowered my nicotine amount over the past 2 years (now vaping 6mg nic), and have found that I've had to use juices with certain flavors and higher PG ratio to achieve the hit I'm looking for. Today I'm vaping a cinnamon flavor, 80pg/20vg, 6mg nic juice, on a variable wattage device using a low-resistance dual-coil tank, and the hit is just as good as with the cigarettes I quit 2 years ago, and it tastes much better :) .

I was a 2 pack a day smoker for over 40 years. I started with 18 mg. and it worked, but just barely. I still felt vaguely anxious and like things were not quite right. I bumped up to 24 mg. and was immediately very comfortable. I still am, and no smokes for 3 months!:)

Good luck to you. You can do this!

Thanks Buggainok. I think I'll be fine. I do catch myself getting up and wandering around for no apparent reason.

I used to live in OKC around 1980. I had a blast.

a lot of tanks now a days have adjustable air holes to suit your vaping needs, i would suggest getting one of those and testing out which sized air hole best fits your vaping style...me personally i start coughing like a little girl if i take more than 2-3 continuous lung hits so i tend to lean towards a tank with a tighter draw
