So.. First review on my first e-cig, nothing to compare it to and only assumptions and common sense to go on. Perhaps I can help somebody out?

Lead-in...
After waiting nearly two weeks for my Blu order to go through, I had enough time to find out just how many products are available and find this website. I found myself rather impressed with several products, but to be honest it was Leaford's youtube videos that turned me on to the M-401. I originally watched his top-5 video and was a bit disappointed that there weren't any minis - just to find the m-401 at the end. He reccomended it and the 901 for beginners, so I found his original review and was all but blown away at the vapor production and how well he rated it.. It's not hard to tell when someone's genuinely impressed with something, and Leaford's sincerity had me ordering the M-401 from litecigusa.com without any hesitation whatsoever.. Thus far, I gotta say thanks!

Innitial Impressions...
So.. It's 2 in the morning on Thursday, and I've decide I'm going to cancel my Blu order to get an M-401 dual atomizer kit instead.. Props to Blue customer service, it only took me like three minutes to get my order cancelled. Anyway, I had to look up my ancient paypal account because litecig doesn't take credit cards online.. As it turns out, I could have left my paypal stuff blank and CALLED.. On the one hand, it would have been nice for this to be mentioned on the site, but on the other hand, I had to use paypal for my TW purchase yesterday anyway.. *shrug*

Saturday before noon, I check the mail puffing on an analog and poof! I GOTS A BOX! I managed to avoid bouncing and dancing on the way inside, and opened my priority mail box to find a simple, but nice-looking white box with a logo and a pair of magnets holding it closed.. Inside, and in perfect shape were my two batteries and atomizers, along with my five carts (in 'mboro - high') and bottle of camel juice. You don't care about the packaging, all that matters is that everything was in perfect condition and looks great.

At first glance, well.. it's hard not to like the looks of the m-401.. Matte black carts and battery, with a gold atomizer and some neat smokey gold stuff on the battery. All in all a rather eye-pleasing package. I was and still am amazed how natural it feels in my hand.. And it's light enough that after a bit of getting used to you can hang it from your lips.. Anyway.. innitial impression? Whoo!

Performance thus far...
Okay.. After just over an hour's charge I couldn't resist the temptation and went ahead and screwed together the battery and atty and loaded up a mboro cart.. Took a puff and quickly realized that I was a newb.. Once I popped the cart back off and added a drop of the camel juice to prime the wick, I took a hit that damn near sent me to my knees coughing.. Holy unexpected vapor production, batman! I was instantly impressed that on a partial charge (and not even straight inhaling) I could get enough vapor out of this thing to make me cough.. I used to smoke camel wides - so I'd like to think I have a decently tough throat...

Throat hit? I don't have much to compare this thing to other than.. analogs.. But if I was to compare the two I'd honestly say that the e-cig has a 'better' throat hit. It's not as harsh, but it feels more natural.. It's desirable instead of an annoyance.. It's also pretty damned easy to take a bit too much. My personal opinion? I love this thing so far.. I'd imagine I could hand it to a non-smoker and they could get a pleasant hit, but someone who smokes three packs a day could get a good enough hit to be more than satisfied.

Vapor production, you ask? Again, I don't have another e-cig to compare to, but I did smoke a camel while puffing on this thing to rate them side-by-side.. I'm pretty I get more vapor than I do smoke! An automatic M-401 isn't going to compare to an e-pipe or a screwdriver.. Anyone with half a brain knows this.. But I can't see how someone would 'need' more vapor than they can get out of this thing... If you happen to check Leaford's youtube channel, you can see side-by-side comparisons of the 901 and the M-401.. If you're interested in the 401, I have to reccomend you check out his and spikey's videos.. (someone's going to have to remind me what their youtube names are though.. I honestly can't remember)

Ever-important battery life? Well.. yet again, I have no other e-cig to compare to and I'm still brand newto all this (it's my second day vaping) so I can only compare to.. the pack of camels a day I'm used to smoking.. Over the course of today, I've used one pre-filled cartridge and a total of five drops of juice... And I'm currently not craving anything..

Final thoughts.. If you're looking to get into vaping or you want something that's portable with a decent battery and (what I think is) good vapor.. BUY.. Plus, this thing really does look cool and I can't imagine how anything else could feel much better in your hands.. In other words, you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't at least take a solid look at the M-401..

Um, so I've completely run out of steam for this review, but I think it covers the basics, right? Please somebody let me know if they want specifics, I'll be appy to give them.. I'm not giving a rating because I have nothing to compare it to, and I AM a vaping newb, so please.. um.. absolutely go nuts with the constructive criticism! Thanks..

Okay... I'm using basically the same model (M402) with the same juice, from the same vendor, ordered almost the SAME DAY...

You seem to love yours coming from Camel Wides. For me, Wides are a backup to Kamel Red.

To you, does vaping taste crazy different from the cigarettes?

The reason I ask is because the Camel juice on my M402 had me close to barfing after 10 puffs or so, and since we bought everything from the same place, I know it's not a difference in potency or model.

I really want to love this thing, but I know I've got to be missing something here.

Give it a little time and maybe get some other flavors. Flavors are definitely subjective and do not always taste the way you'd expect them to. I have not tried the Camel flavor, but I love the Virginia blend flavor and Hilton is growing on me. Lots of people love 555, but I can't stand it! Luckily there are a number of suppliers selling 10ml bottles cheap.

I'm putting a close to my collection of e-cigs. I have an 801 pen, 901 and 510 not counting my first which was an NPRO mini which I didn't care for. The previous three are excellent. I'm interested in this M401 or 402. I like the black/gold design. If I read right, the M401 is that of a mini where the 402 is just a bit longer. I've only found these listed on litecig. Are there any other sellers that have the exact model? Maybe a tad cheaper?

Other way around. The 401 is ~108mm long and the 402 is ~98mm long.

It seemed to me that a lot of vendors are selling the M401, but the M402 is a bit more elusive. When I ordered mine last week, LiteCig had the best price for one in stock and shipped within the US.

CORRECTION: Sorry, I saw the M401 and 402 at abettersmoke.com. Litecigusa.com has them but not in kits. All I see listed is the atomizer and batt. I suppose I could order that but what about the cart/mouthpiece?
Hmm... looks like he sold out of kits. When he gets them back in stock, he had the best deal I saw on a 402 w/ spare atomizer.

i got a dual atomizer kit for $45 or so.. two batteries. two attys, couple carts w/ generic mboro juice... with a 5ml bottle of juice and shipping it was still cheaper than my alternatice (blu) and i couldn't be happier.. I think peopl are right about the m401 attys breaking in and getting better.. i have to be careful cause it wouldn't be hard for me to choke to death with this thing XD

You did well to cancel your blu order. took them over a month to get my ecig to me. then i get it and the led blinks when i take a drag on full charge. the atomizers suck and the vapor production isn't very good. they have a really nice charging case but with all the other things tied in i give it a very poor rating. Customer service there blew, I'm sure they can cancel easily casuse they sure can't handle their business. Their whole system there is terrible no one knows anything. I just orderd a bunch of M401s including the new dragon from truesmoker.com I am super stoked to get it. Ive heard nothing but good things about the m-series. I do want to get an 4081 mini because they also have a new charge case pack kit for only 33 bucks. I'm sending back my Blu for new batts and atoms so Maybe i just got a bad batch but I'm going to say stay away from that company all together until they figure out how to handle big business production. Currently they fail...... I did find a great whole sale site however, :Ecigwholesale.net: you can get 5 m401 kits for 135 bucks. what a killer deal. I orderd one and with all the people that want to buy one out here in Boulder CO im going to make a killing.
