I'm sure a lot of people will scoff at me for this but the bottom line is this; Mechanical mods are outrageously expensive. Sure I can get a clone, and I did. Picked up a Sentinel V3 clone. Will be using a 91% on it. But I would like to join the ranks of owning something that is truly special, real and something of quality. So I'm pretty much left with one option. If you want something done right, you gota do it yourself, right?
Here's what I know. I know machining. I know turning bar stock in a cnc turning center as well. What I don't know, is where to get some prints, 3d models or even some pre-programmed with toolpath and everything cad files for a mechanical mod. I'm new to using mechanical mods and without being able to study these products hands-on (mostly due to the fact that it's $200 just to own one), it's hard to get an idea of the inner workings enough to design and machine my own.
What I need are some detailed technical drawings of a standard mechanical switch personal vaping battery tube and switch setup. How the switch should be positioned. How to make the contacts work correctly. How to make a proper working button lock (for palm or side-fire device). And standard threading information for a 510 connection, as well as any and all known dimensions (mm or inch).
Now right off the bat, I know vendors or builders of mech mods are going to say no and not like the idea of someone making their own. Especially if it's from a design of something they designed. Which is why I have to state quite frankly that I am not looking to get into the business of building and selling my own devices. I simply want to make a high quality one that I can enjoy myself personally. Instead of shelling out $200 for some turned material that I know I can make myself.
So if you're someone who makes mechanicals, or know someone who does, or have any knowledge or links as to where I could find any of the aforementioned information, I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me out with this situation. I have searched the net and this forum but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Maybe I'm not searching hard enough.
