LOL that wouldn't work out for a couple of reasons, but one could dream of an atty in the future that marries the two.

The AFC is really the best/slickest implementation of air-flow I've seen out there, and the Pièce de résistance of the RM2 is how the positive terminal isn't in the center of the deck.

Might be easier to chuck up the RM2, and machine off the threads with a mill file. Then machine a small groove to accept a thin o-ring. Speculation . . . . I'm not holding the thing in my hand.

That would work out better. The problem with screwing the AFC on is the holes would never line up properly. Snap on would be the only workaround.

Or tig weld the air hole and redrill in proper location
Wouldn't work with the Air Flow Control cap.

On closer inspection I think the ID of the AFC cap is slightly larger than the RM2 cap. So some threads would be left on the RM2 if I sanded it to fit in the AFC. That might work to hold an O ring in place. After the Woodvil sale and I replenish funds from that, I might try it on the Triangle atty before sacrificing an RM2.

yeah, I tried tig welding a few holes in atty caps and it's not too practical, just too thin material for it to not at least warp. I do have a high end precision tig welder and do know how to use it too :) the only way I can think of to do it without an issue would be to make a tight fitting plug from brass, this will act as a heat sink and a jig to maintain the shape, the weld won't stick to the brass so after the hole is welded shut you could pop the tight fitting brass plug out and have a closed hole on a cap that still fits. haven't actually went this far but I'm fairly sure that method would work, just winds up being less hassle to just replace the whole atty though :) ...
