I've read in several places now that the MacTank uses the same coils as the iClear 30S, though the iClear cartomizers do *not* fit the mactank, at least not straight from the factory (if there's a way to rig 'em, please, lemme know, but I'm not seeing it). Actually looked into this quite a bit trying to replace my mactank's cartomizer in-town (without luck)

They may be similar style tanks but the coils are entirely different, and I don't see how they could possibly be compatible. The iClear 30S coils (which are NOT cartomizers) insert through the bottom of the tank and is then held in place with a locking cap. The 510 connector is part of the coil assembly.
The coil assembly in the Mactank screws into the base of the tank from above. The based of the tank has the 510 connector.
