I did 6 wraps of 26 gauge on the tiny blue screwdriver that came with the Kanger sub tank mini. It read 1.5 ohms on the meter. But it's inconsistent with vaping. The iStick is reading anywhere from 1.2 up to 2.5. Different each time & it changes as I look at it. Is that normal? What can I do differently next time?

the meter doesn't apply much power.

on the istick when you apply power, it gets hot, and metallic expansion due to heating is causing movement at the electrical contact points.

The screws that screw down the wire probably just need tightening. Normal routine when wrapping a coil; you screw down the coil then after you fire it up, you tighten the screws.

Yeah, tighten the screws, and pinch the wires together while they're still glowing red, but after you have released the button, from a test fire with a tweezers or a pliers. If you short across that coil with a tool while it is fired, it will burn a leg so fast you won't even see it happen. Lol, go ahead, ask me how I know :)
