Well I took apart my vaporizer to clean it. Now I researched the best ways. I don't got paper towels. I don't have any vodka. I wiped down the parts with some good toilet paper. Didn't leave any lint. I washed the glass tank out with hot tap water. I didn't use tap water for the rest cause I don't want to damage it. Or I didn't. Well it came down to the coil. I have an itaste vv with the Kanger AeroTank Mini. I am using Kanger Stock Duel Coils. I quickly discovered that you couldn't clean it like a regular coil since you can't take it apart to actually get to the coil. I had googled the issue so about the best solution I could find was to dry burn. Blow it out. Rinse it with water. Dry burn it again. I did all this. I put it back together. Added my juice and all that. Well I made the mistake of putting in too much juice on accident. It was taking a while to get it to vape again but it seems to be now though there is a slight burnt taste. But I am thinking this may be because of how I had to clean the coils. There might still be burnt juice on there. It is really hard for me to say for sure. I am using lighter juices though that don't really clog the coil. I have had this vaporizer since the 8th. That is also when I put in the new coil. I got 4 more but I am trying to get all the life out of it I can. I am hoping I didn't ruin it. It seemed fine before I did this so I am hoping it is just a bit of burnt juice left in there that might clear out. Won't know until I vape on it some more. I am sure me overfilling it a little bit didn't help. On the bright side this was my first time overfilling it. Every time before I filled it right. lol. I was going to post this in the new members sections since I am still new but it appears I can't make new threads there anymore.

If it tastes OK, just go with it.
Otherwise, swap in a new head, and save the old one. If you get some vodka or isopropyl alcohol etc, you can try cleaning out the old one and trying again.

Well the burnt taste has pretty much faded so it seems ok now. My biggest worry was I hurt it either washing it out or by overfilling it. That is one mistake I am going to try not to make again.

The problem with dry burning is: too much or too little? If you push it too hard you can always pop the coil open - and that's the end of that one. In your case it sounds like you may have done too little, and that can leave you with the worst of the (now) dried out crud remaining on the coil and wick.
If it's settled out and tastes ok now there is no point in going back to re-do it. In general, when you dry burn you are looking at doing it until you are sure there is no more smoke being generated from crud being burned off the coil. Dry burning these kinds of coils isn't foolproof though and can only extend the life span so far.

I wish it was possible to actually access the coil itself. I heard Kanger's old duel coils you could but it seems like now you can't. Your right I likely dry burned too little. I was getting a bit impatient. But I think I did get most of it burned off. If I helped to extend the life of it a little then that is good at least. I want to make these last as long as possible. One thing funny is after I rinsed it off though and did another dry burn I wasn't getting any vape burning off at all. Or would it be smoke in this case? lol
I'm a week into vaping and have cleaned my tank a couple times before changing liquid flavors. I'm using the Kanger Aerotank v2 Mini. I simply remove the coil head/battery set them aside. I wash out the rest of the components in warm water, let 'em dry and re-use the same coil. Takes a few vape sessions to flush out the old flavor but then its fine. The coil heads on these are so cheap that I'm not going to attempt to clean them, just replace when needed.
The reason i am attempting to clean them is to extend their lives. Before they switched to their newer casing people would clean them out and later on recoil them themselves and make better coils out of them. For me with money being tight, I need to make these last as long as I can. I can't afford to just let a coil go bad because of poor maintenance. Hell cleaning the coil out was the main reason I decided to go ahead and clean it in the first place. I also only vape at 8 watts on these 2 ohm coils. Mostly cause I want to preserve the coil. Plus I got a menthol flavor and current in use a peppermint. For that I prefer a cooler vape anyways.
Do you mean during the try burn itself? Or once you reloaded with liquid?
If it was during dry burning... Welp you did mention you rinsed it first. If the wick was still wet it takes some time to drive off the water from the wick before it will produce anything - be it from remaining water or if there is still crud on the coil.
On the other side, if the wick was still wet with water after you put it back in and filled - same thing. Initially you will get a very weak vape until the water is driven off and the wick now has more e-liquid in there than water.
I ment during the dry burn itself. After I rinsed it with water and burned it nothing came out. lol. I suppose it might be considered smoke with just that juice burning on there though it looked more like vapor to me. lol.
Yeah, if you're burning the gunk off the coil, there is burning happening, therefor, smoke. Glad it's back to tasting good for you.
I wasn't sure if it was smoke or vape simply cause when the juice is burned it pretty much becomes the same stuff. It looked more like vape to me coming off. I wasn't concerned though. I was just trying to make a bit of a joke there about it being vape or smoke but I admit it was a bad joke. lol
The problem with dry burning coil heads like this is that there is a very fine line between hot enough to burn off the gunk and hot enough that the legs coming off the coil burn/melt the little silicone/plastic/whatever positive isolator. Once you do that, it will never taste very good, ever again.
The itaste vv automaticly cuts off after being on for 10 seconds straight Also I was careful how long I kept it on. I didn't hold it the full 10 seconds each time. I would do 5 seconds, stop then start get a few seconds later. I was trying to be careful not to burn up the coil itself.
I dryburn my own coils at 3 watts ; I can hold down the button without risk of burning out the coil;
as long as the coils glow reddish that's all you need.
If you can get regular single coils to fit in there instead of the dual coils, you'll save a bundle on coils; you probably just need to add a second silicone cap inverted on top the coil to seal the extra height.
You probably did ok then, just keep that plastic bit in mind. Once you melt an isolator that head will always taste of burnt plastic. I've tried getting that flavor out of heads before, and even with complete disassembly, cleaning, and weeks of soaking you could still taste it.
Next time I think I will lower the watts when I do it. I kept it at 8 watts which is what I prefer to vape at.

I can't even see exactly how hot it gets cause of how they do them. Chances are what I will do is if I ever get another smaller one, I may go single coil for it but do duel for this one. Considering I got this as a gift from a friend I kinda want to keep with what I start with on it just to kinda cherish the first memory of my first good vape from it. You can still buy the old version coils online at some vendors. Even so.. you cant get to the bottom of the two, in the Ver1.0.
I am iffy about ordering this stuff from less reliable sources. Which is what you would have to do for older ones. I could easily get a counterfeit or something. For now I will likely just stick with these. I have had this since the 8th and it hasn't burnt out on me yet. Better then I have heard from what some other people say and I go through about a tank a day.

Watch how long you pulse when dry burning. That is usually where people mess up. To long and the heat will scorch the insulator in the bottom and that is where the burnt taste often comes from. Pulse/cool/pulse/cool
