Madvapes VV board rev 2. Question

i received my vv stuff today just finished putting it all together and tested it with a meter and it showed 6.2v, turned the pot and it still showed 6.2, turned it off removed batteries checked all connections and continuity for shorts nothing that i can see and am now getting 0.8v with the pot turned up, and 0.6v with pot turned down... what am i missing?
