So I decided to build this parallel coil as I saw a few vids on youtube about them and thought why not....It's basically 7 wraps of 28g kanthal wrapped round a 2mm drill bit and wicked with muji cotton and it hits like a runaway train! On my magma (clone) the flavour is awesome......

Now I just got myself some 24g kanthal and was about to build myself a new coil when I had a thought,,,,,, will my batteries be able to take the build I want to make ???
These are the batteries I have been running and they last me all day on my current build (use both 1for daytime 1 for night)

I was thinking of building a 24g parallel coil at about 0.25 ohms just wondered what peoples thoughts were regarding the batteries long winded way of getting there I know but I got there eventually

According to ohms calculator i used 14.8 amps from a 20 amp battery that's a good 5 amps wriggle/head room

I forgot to say I don't plan on using it as a all day vape coil just thought I would try it

As stated I use a 28g parallel at 0.6 as my normal coil

Ah; now I see where you got the 14.8 amps.

Question: What mod are you using?

If you are using a mech you need to use 4.2 for your voltage in the calculations.
If you are using a regulated mod then you need the cutoff voltage of the mod - usually around 3.3 volts.

For a 20 amp battery, you want to stay with 50% headroom, so you aim for anything below 10 amps.
If you go 10 to 15 amps, then you're pushing it
If you go over 15 amps, then you're really pushing it.
If you go over the 20 amps well then you're looking for trouble.

Battery performance will deteriorate with age/use.

I use a nemesis and a magma

Want to say thanks for your help and advice by the way....

The thought of that 24g wire just sitting around not getting used is why I thought about the build lol maybe you have some advice on build that I should maybe look at doing with it

I recommend trying out 30 and 32 gauge kanthal especially for dual/multicoil builds.

1.5 to 2 ohm per coil.

Been there done that don't want to go back as it was not pleasant and made me want a cigarette

My current build I have been using for a month or so and it works flawless so I will stick with that

You could use the 2500mAh 35A Efest (actually a 20A continuous). Or a VTC4 or VTC5, or a Samsung 25r. Just to name a few that work fine at your desired resistance.

I usually do 6 wrap micro coils with 24g. Dual coils comes to .21 ohm. It is perfect for my atomizers with good airflow, but the Magma is not one of those. I rarely use my Magma anymore, but if I was going to build it, it would be a bit higher resistance.

For now I have decided against building it and decided to stick with my 28g 7wrap parallel (so 14 wraps total) giving .6ohm...... Gonna pick up some new batteries and a new dripper in the new year

I really only wanted to try the build hit it a few times then throw it away really, as I know for a fact my magma (only rda I own at the mo) doesn't have the airflow for such a low build and I knew I would be pushing the battery too hard, being a 40yr old man with two kids I won't risk my hands face or any part of my body just to blow a cloud out my mouth I have proper shish pipes (from Dubai) if I want to do that

I find anything under .5 ohms gross on my magmas. Way too warm and weird tasting. .5 and up is heaven. Magma is my favorite RDA. Only RDA I own multiples of, and I own 4 lol. Love these things. Just not good for real low builds for my personal tastes.

I've got other rdas that perform well below .5 but the magma just is not built for it to even be enjoyable IMO. Still say its my most reliable best performing most satisfying vape for me personally. As long as I don't try to get carried away with it.
