So I'm looking to get a magama clone. dont feel like paying 100 bucks for a paradigm original. the fasttech version is only like 15 bucks and the infinte 25. i heard the infinte clone is pretty flawless. should i shell out the extra ten bucks (yes im that poor) to get it or should i just go with the FT version? What do y'all think?

The fasttech version isnt infinite tho. and does anyone know if the 510 pin is still long on the current clones or did they fix that problem?

It's adjustable; if the screw is literally toooo looong, you can just unscrew it out, and file it or hacksaw it; for $15 bucks it's worth the effort if that's the case.

It's the part with 510 threading that's too long on the FT clone. There's probably 1mm of unthreaded metal at the base of the atty, before the threads start. I don't think there's any hope of shortening it without ruining the threads. Luckily, my paps clone is just barely able to be adjusted to make it sit flush, but there's no chance it would sit flush on my VTR.

It's the only complaint I have about the FT magma though, it really is quite nice. I have no other magmas to compare it to, but I'd happily buy another.

im thinking about getting an ft clone hana modz dna 30 tho and apparently a lot of things dont sit flush on it. so if i get that and a magma clone from FT i may go with the infinite. plus honestly the machining is supposedly more consistent on the infinite. there's a version 2 magma. did they fix the 510 problem on that one? and cypress where is the other thread that has this same question?

Most mechs with either telescopic pins or bodies (or both) will allow the magma to sit flush.

On regulated mods it is a different story.
On Hana boxes they look flush, but only because there is a recessed well around the 510.

I honestly stopped caring about this a long time ago.

The FT model is gtg. Only downside is shipping time.

INFINITE!

Hands down brother, I've bought ALOT of Infinite products since they've started and 110% of it has been awesome, just flawless authentic quality (better than some authentics I've bought actually!). I can't express how much I trust them, and how much I don't trust FastTech (although FT's prices are epic I'll admit).

Spend the 10$, and I bet you'll get at least $50 more in satisfaction and quality :D. I've had some infinite clones that I actually preferred over the original, because in some cases they improve items (like my turtleship v2, smoother buttery button, and silver plated copper contacts instead of brass gave it a 2x better voltage drop, it was heavy, had smooth threads (which the seems would disappear once tightened together), and was seriously my favorite mod until I tried 26650 mods!

If you haven't already, get the infinite, I can personally guarantee you it'll be a good magma comparable to the OG. They've never let me down, and for the price of their items, you'll almost feel like you robbed them :p.

I thought the FT one was an infinite clone.

Either way, I bought mine from FT and it's been really great. Machining is as good as it gets for clones in my experience. Some people complain about one of the posts being wobbly but I just tightened the 510 pin before using it (still protrudes from the threads enough) and have had no issues.

The 510 connection is a little long for some regulated devices without floating/spring loaded pins but personally I use it on a mech so no problem for me. Very happy with it.
