I've got a couple Magmas and one has started having issues - probably because I've created too much heat with a build while dry burning a new coil for too long. I've noticed that if I screw the screw in the base all the way in as far as it can go, it will short and not fire. If I unscrew it just a little, it fires, but will leak after a while. I mostly see the leak or seepage develop around the underside of the base, not in where the screw is. I've had this mod for a long time now and was not having these issues prior to changing out my coil. It is an original from Paradigm.

I wanted to check first to see if anyone has ever unscrewed that screw in the base all the way before I do. What happens when you take it all the way out - and is it difficult to re-assemble? Also is there an insulator in there that the screw passes through similar to the kayfun that might need to be replaced?

I have a clone as well that works perfectly, so this is the first time I've ever had an issue. The leak doesn't cause any juice to build up around my connection on my mod (PapsX), so I'm not sure what's causing it to happen. When this would happen with a Kayfun (melting the center pin insulator), it would leave juice in my connection and I would have to fiddle with the screw position to avoid the short. This is what's throwing me off. I've never had to fiddle with the center screw in the base of a Magma before to avoid a short. It's definitely not the coil either.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
