Magneto help - locking ring stuck!

I recently got some fantastic recommendations from everyone and I'm waiting (not so patiently) for my Provari to arrive tomorrow! My girlfriend got a Magneto yesterday though, and she's having some issues with it.

The twisting bottom ring that's meant to lock the button in place and prevent it from firing it stuck. Very stuck. Pliers can't help kind of stuck. I searched through a couple of threads and found that this problem isn't entirely uncommon, but we haven't found a solution. The only successes I've come across have been from eventually getting it off with pliers, but neither of us have had success that way.

We took it to our local vape shop where they also tried to get it off with pliers, and eventually gave up and told us to try putting it in the freezer overnight. I have no idea how the thing got so tight! We were both well aware that it turns clockswise, so it hasn't been overtightened by going the wrong way.

Any ideas on how to resolve this and maybe how to prevent it from happening again if we ever get the darn thing to move?

Pliers? Oh crap! I hope you were able to protect the mod!

I've had this happen a few times, more than once on the Magneto. Just remember the lock is reverse threaded so if it's stuck where the button will still fire you will want to turn the locking ring in the same direction as if you were tightening the end cap.

I've had the best luck using rubber gloves or the rubber glass jar opening circular grips. You will want to learn now to be careful when removing or installing the end cap when there is a reverse threaded lock because getting the ring jammed on a copper mod is 10 times easier. I find that keeping the lock loose when installing or removing the end cap helps a lot. Good luck!
