Copper coins work well
Do you just put them inbetween the battery and the bottom cover? I've got a Touchwood, negative end goes in first, does that matter? Sorry, no clue about these things! I've got both Trustfire and some Panasonic and the latter is a tad shorter and not always firing. I can hear it moving back and forth and when I shake the batt to the top, it fires fine then.

You can also get Rare Earth Magnets at Michael's Arts & Crafts or other large craft stores if you don't feel like ordering something or want something fast. I get mine there since I have a great habit of losing them. They stick to random things and disappear. I often find them stuck to my washer or dryer on the inside...

You have to be a bit cautious when using the magnets. In some mods (rough stack, etc...) a magnet used on the positive pole can bridge the switch legs on the PCB and cause it to intermittently fire when the button is not depressed. It's a mechanical problem, and has nothing to do with the magnetic field.

If you are in doubt, it's best to do some research, and testing before carrying the device on a daily (24/7) basis.

P.S. also if you use the magnets on a battery "stack" and there is any slack between the case and batteries, it is possible for the magnet to "jump" to the case and cause a problem. This, of course, is only a problem if the tube is steel or has a stronger magnetic attraction than the cells themselves. It's unlikely, but I have had it happen during "torture testing".

I just started using mechanical mods and need to know, what size earth magnets would be good to put on the negative side of the battery where the bottom switch makes contact...I don't want to get the wrong size...I seen stalker use it on the s dog mod, it was very thin and round, almost like the nipple on a battery.

Negative side?

Spacers should always go where positive side is.

I just need to know how thin the magnet should be and if I can also use a kick while using magnets on batterys.

I am asking because it could be very dangerous, but it is up to the owner ...

Magnet usually go to positive side as a "fake" button - nipple.

I've never used a magnet in any of my PVs, but I seem to recall reading somewhere on ECF that they go on the negative side. If you put them on the positive side and they move sideways off center, they could short the battery though the inside of a metallic tube. It makes sense to me, but then again I don't do it. Any one else know of this?
