Hi Everyone,

We would like to thank everyone in advance for their cordiality, good cheer, support, feedback and suggestions for our www.majorsmoke.com webstore located in the USA.

Our philosophy is that many more people will enjoy electronic cigarettes if they are more affordable and aim to provide them at low prices. Shipping is always from the USA and shipping to U.S. addresses is ALWAYS FREE. We’re also easy to reach.

The prize is a black twin battery, twin atomizer Ego-T in marlbury or menthol flavor in a black box pictured here:
majorsmoke.jpg

The 50ml e-liquid comes in a dropper bottle in your choice or marlbury, menthol or flavorless all in 36mg strength. The case is a black zippered case with elastic netting to hold items securely in place. All items can be seen on the site.

This is a $42.50 value after using the ECF forum’s coupon code: ECF15 if this had been a regular sale.

To enter the contest:

1) Please post a reply with a review of our website with your feedback about the site or what you would change or add to it. It can be as short or as long as you’d like. (Please keep in mind that we’re in the process of adding additional items to our store and that our product selection will be constantly growing.)

2) Posts that don’t contain something that resembles a review won’t be counted.

3) You may reply (enter) more than once, but please don’t reply more often than every 2 hours. (We don’t want to misuse the ECF forum’s computing resources)

4) The contest ends when this thread reaches 1000 posts. A winner will be genuinely, honestly and randomly selected from the replies.

5) Winner gets the EGO-T kit mailed ASAP!

Thanks in advance everyone and good luck!

- John :smokie:

The first impression of the Majorsmoke website is that the site is very eye pleasing, the main page colours gel well with the page layout as a whole. Unfortunately on a second look the index page begins to falter, beginning with the almost unreadable font on the call toll free text, the box below is bound to get mistaken for a search box (that’s what I tried to do with it). The index page as a whole seems a little light on interesting content, in my opinion it could use a news section or perhaps latest additions or special offers that are commonly found on other sites of the same subject. Which would lead me to want to not only browse further through the site but also to check out the latest offers or things that are new with the company.

The flash section at the top of the page is nice but in my opinion is wasted with items that I really don’t want to click to read especially if I have come here to buy. I feel this would be better used in showing a selection of the latest products added to the site. The section below is just a blank space which I think as the site fills up with stock will becoming increasingly bigger – this would probably be a good area for deals specials and or company news.

The side menu is nice and clean and set out well , however those sections are looking a little sparse at the moment (I’m sure this will expand as the site builds stock) for the moment this could probably use a larger font on the menu. The shopping cart section is nice as I like to see what’s been added when I shop around; again this looks a little empty until you have started shopping.

Ok onto the products at first glance the products melt a little into each other for two reasons one being that there are no dividers between the different product listings the other being an absolutely massive description for each product – I’m viewing on a 1920x1080 screen and they are bunched up really tight even on this size. I feel this could use either the descriptions being taken out all together as the name basically tells you what the product is or the descriptions being placed below the rest of the details and being allowed to span the full width of the table. The recently viewed section at the bottom is nice but honestly would be nicer in the side bar.

Moving onto the individual products page. These are well laid out but are missing the description of the product as this is where I would prefer to see it instead of the main products page – I like the idea of the ask a question button but would prefer this opened in a fresh window so I don’t have to hit more buttons to return to the products page once I’m done asking my question. Customer review section is nice but I would like to see what it looks like with some comments added. Your site may also benefit from a customer who bought this also bought section there.

That’s it for now I’ll try and get onto the other pages tomorrow :)

i have to agree with isbnbook about the colors...the black and purple aren't exactly easy on the eyes! But it looks like you've got a good headstart for your business!
Are the stick starter kits 2 piece or 3 piece? It's not really clear from the descriptions if they're 510, 808, or something else...
Good luck!

I believe - don't quote me - that they are the 401 size (i have one and it won't fit on a 510 or an 808) the carts are also way overpriced (can get a pack of ten for less than 4$ and that's in the uk)

Welcome to the wonderful world of website headaches:) Gotta love em.

I complement on the ease of use. I don't, at first go through, notice anything that is not easily accessible. Categories laid out to be easily found. Easy maneuverability.

Now, without going too far into the site, just perusing, I am taken aback by the pictures. I believe it has more to do with having a bright white background....the pics look washed out. Great example is under the juices.....the white bottles blend too much and don't pop right out at you. The ego-t pics...the same....they just don't pop out at me, and the white tanks are hidden within the white background.

Back to really check things out now:)

I know it's ok to not have the same color scheme everywhere but... I find the style between the left navigation pane with the purple headings and the content with the black headings (also, is the heading font different as well?) A little bit disconnected. It sort of looks like the site is pulling the content from a different site or something. Not a major thing, it's a pretty clean site design. I also agree with others, the kind of squeaky-clean very bright stock photos go against the overall design of the rest of the site.

Here is my review, brutal and honest.

First thing I noticed is the girl at the top (obviously a stock image) is holding an analog cigarette, that would be a FAIL.

In fact all of the images are stock and not unique to your site. The logo is OK, nothing special though. The font selections are terrible throughout the site. It looks very cheap.

The starter kits are reasonable priced, from the looks of them though, I would think they are nJOY type units which are terrible. I would never recommend your site to anybody I know by the looks of those starter kits.

The fact you only offer 36 mg is irresponsible and possibly dangerous, although once again, the pricing is reasonable.

The Ego-T's are about the only thing on your site that is decent but 50 bucks for the kit is not the cheapest around and for a new vendor you might want to stick out a bit more by offering at or near cost for a start up company.

Overall from a scale from 1-5, I'd give your site a 1.

You might want to keep the logo and name, take the site down for a while until you get it together then relaunch at a later date.

First, thanks for the opportunity to win the Ego-T. Just browsed your website. In my opinion, I think the black/gray background. doesn't pop. I agree with keela, the white in pics of product representation is too harsh. Also your phone number on home page seems a bit blurred, not sure if its the font?? But a great start, and very good prices, and free shipping is a real bonus.

Two big things I would suggest to you all is to have a starter kit that contains 2 batteries, and to offer different nicotine levels in your juice. I personally would not purchase a starter kit that only comes with one battery because once that battery needs charging I am "vapeless" until it is recharged. 36mg juice is quite high for many people. Other than those two things it's a good looking site. I'm curious, like others, what size the threading is on the minis. I think, once you get some reviews on there, your website has great potential. Your prices are very good. I really like the color scheme, though I agree that the lighter colored items are harder to see. May I suggest a lavender back drop for them? I think that would break up the white enough to show the white Item, while still being able to see the black items, and it would go with your color scheme. Thanks for a chance to chime in, and a chance to win some swag for it! :D

Overall the site does have a nice clean look to it, I like the edgy design. The only odd thing about the site that struck me is that you have a great "military" avatar here, and your site has a very classy lady smoking... lol. I was expecting a "military" look to the site, but instead got something completely different. Continuity between Site Design and Forum presence isn't required, but made me wonder if I went to the correct site.

Okay, before I go any further, full disclosure. I'm a Graphics Designer, and have been in the business well over 10 years. This might seem trivial points that I bring up, but there found in good solid design experience. I concur about the stark white mentioned in the above posts, and the other comments. I've narrowed my review to the following:

The fonts used in a few areas should be changed.

The "decayed" fonts that you are using for the "Questions" section at the top - I love that font, as a Designer... but it's legibility leaves a lot to be desired. Steer clear of fonts that change or warp the general shape of the letters. A font like that is only meant to be used sparingly, and in a very large size for readability.

The same can be said about the Major Smoke logo at the top of the site. The issue when using fonts that have thin strokes is that thin stroke lines (as seen at the bottom of the Es, Ls, and even the on the bottom curve of the C and Gs) as they are decreased in size these lines disappear. The "Electronic Cigarettes" part of your logo is barely legible at this size. This logo is eventually going to cause you grief, especially if it needs to be produced at a smaller size. If it were black lettering on a white background, it might be okay - but it would be pushing it. As a white logo on a black background, your losing serious definition, and the drop shadow behind it is not helping it at all.

The "About Us" title should be done in a bold face, or an outline applied to the font in the same color to make it appear bold. The body text below it draws the eye before the title does, and it should be the other way around. I's recommend a color change on the "About Us" title, as the green is washed out and not eye-catching like it was meant to be.

Remember this is just my 2¢, but I think it'll help the readability of the site for the end-users.
:)

The Internet
The site looks pretty nice. Clean, simple, and mature looking.

My only suggestion would be to toss up a "products" link in the bar that shows all products, or subs into a list of groups. As a more seasoned vaper, I would be looking for a particular item, ie- products > cartomizers > ce2.

As to your ECF profile . . . I would definitely suggest getting a few more posts in so we can click on your link in a signature. :)
