Hello All,
Fairly new to the vaping world, about 3 weeks now. Having a difficult time staying on the vaping wagon, and the road rash is getting annoying  I really want that wow factor, that most seem to experience...I want my banner in my signature file that says I have avoided analogs...but they keep finding me. Stoopid voices :glare:

I am using the basic starter equipment, eGo c-twist and t-upgraded batts with Kanger PT-II mini clearo's. I have recently moved to the Innokin I-Taste vv/vw 3.0. I like the I-taste seems to produce ample vapor and flavor from the 18 mg juices I have been using. Still no love. I was a PAD (camel blue kings) smoker...although I have reduced this to 3-5 a day, still can't get a banner. I don't usually empty a tank in a day, (maybe i need to vape more), even at home where I tend to chain vape more because I can. It's nice not having to go outside or interrupt what I am doing.

I don't expect a miracle answer, I am sure in time it will happen. I know each person is different I am just not sure what I am missing. Not sure that I want to jump into the big mods, I don't think that's the answer. Just waiting for it to click.

Thanks for allowing me to vent.

WElcome Jimmy....Where are you getting your liquid? That might be what is happening. I think that the Itaste VV 3 is a great device it just might be that you personally havent found that one flavor to make you quit completely. BUT don't bang your head when you are doing excellent for some it may take a bit longer keep at it.

It just takes time with some people, Jimmy. Going from a pack/day to 3-5 is no small accomplishment! You can be dang proud of that.

Maybe get off your regular brand and start smoking something that tastes awful. Don't like menthol ? Buy some Kools. Switch to a low dollar floor sweepings brand that has big chunks of stems in them. Ditch what you are used to and get something you can't stand.

Maybe up your nic level to 24, see if that helps. That banner will come, just might take a little time.

If you're still smoking a few cigs a day I would up your nic to 24mg. It's ok you feel this way because you're changing a habit not just an addiction. Once you find a vape that's to your liking things will get much easier. Stay strong and remember the feeling of not smoking is always better than the feeling of smoking.

But going from a PAD to 3-5 is still very good :) Maybe you need more nicotine in your juice? I noticed that I was starting to crave tobacco again when I went from 18 mg to 12 mg nic. Now I'm back to 18 and trying to come up with a more gradual plan.

Hi Jimmy,

IMO you're being to hard on yourself. Maybe there's not a banner that fancy but by my calculations in 3 weeks going from a pack a day to we'll call it 5, you have avoided 315 cigarettes!!! That's almost 16 packs!!!! Not sure how much they are in CO so I'll call it $5, that's $80!!!!! Way to go!! Keep it up, you got this!!

It does get easier; it took me two months to fully quit. Which was fine, I allowed myself to smoke, I merely avoided it as much as possible. It drifted down over time and finally hit zero. These days, the only time I think about it is when answering posts like these.

You can certainly raise your nic level if you want, but you may find that doesn't do it. Pro tip: nicotine isn't the only addictive substance in cigs, and it does take time to break those addictions as well (if you're addicted to them).

WTAs (Whole Tobacco Alkaloids) can help some people and I had moderate success with them. Or simply let yourself have that cig when you absolutely can't stand the itching need any longer...you'll find that those time periods extend out and eventually you simply put them down (if you want to).

Hello Jimmy (and the voices) and welcome to ECF!

Yeah, it does take time. Some people are able to quit the minute they get their first PV--others struggle for weeks, months, years. Some never quit completely but reduce the number of paper cigs they smoke.

My advice--don't expect miracles. If you feel like you're dying and the voices are telling you to have a cig or something terrible is going to happen--go ahead and have a cig. Not the end of the world. Just vape as much and as often as you can and see what happens.

You may also try WTA or Swedish snus to help you if you're one of those smokers who need the other, minor alkaloids. Most of us hearing voices belong to this category. ;)

Good luck and much success.

Thanks for all the quick replies and welcomes... I think I am being to harsh on myself.... I was reading(should have read that one before posting) through another thread "How long did it take you to quit..." and the answers/advice in there would apply to me as well.

I get my Juice from a local B&M that has a great selection of 50/50 juice like the ability to try before I buy, but I may need to branch out to the online universe.

I just need to chillax vape on and allow things to happen.

Thanks!

Didn't look at it that way or make the calculations. Thanks!

Hello Jimmy and his friends!
I also am not good enough for a banner :( I will do really good and then just feel the need for an analog. It's has gotten to about 1 a day or just a couple of puffs off one. I think it's the going outside and smoking was my relaxing time addiction I have to deal with. The banner will come in due time my friend! The best advice I can give is find a juice you just absolutely love and things will get easier! Good luck

Jimmy - You're welcome :)

Itsmanda and Jimmy -- I've seen it on here multiple times, no idea who to attribute it to though-- Something like, It's not about the ones you do smoke, it's the ones you don't smoke that count. (Sorry whoevers quote i'm stealing and probably butchering!)

Yes I actually saw that tonight and it makes total sense! Just wish I could have been one that picked up the ecig and put the analogs completely down argh

One of the best places to look at if you need more satisfaction in your vape, is the atomizer. The atomizer is ultimately what is responsible for the quality and flavor of your vape. Would recommend try ing the Aspire Nautilus BDC or the regular Aspire BDC tank, it the Naut is to big for you. Both provide a great vape and are trouble free. Like the Nautilus better, because of it's adjustable air flow, that gets it air from the side instead of the 510 connector.

It took me almost 2 months to get completely analog free (5 months in now). At first it was a few a day, then it was 1 a day but that was all I could think about - I looked forward to and savored that cigarette all day. Then I just started forgetting to smoke analogs.
I smoked one last week after a night at the bar. I enjoyed it. I'll probably always enjoy it, but now I think of it like ice cream. It's not something I should ingest every time I get hungry.
Also, I've found some flavors that I really, really, really like so it's like having a choice between lobster, steak, spinach, mashed potatoes, pasta, french fries (not actual flavors I vape, but things I like to eat... this metaphor is getting out of hand) so I'm not tempted to stray very often.

I'm still transitioning away from analogs. What works for me is a great (for me) setup and excellent juices. I don't vape tobacco flavors. Actually found it to be gross. I do honey and various fruit flavors. Lately I have vaping cinnamon with great satisfaction. Find a store that will let you sample the juices and try something new. It might be the perfect juice for you.

I definitely found it easier once I moved to flavours that weren't tobacco based. It was always a poor copy in my mind. I always have mint or menthol in mine to give a bit extra flavour to any fruit mix. I'm down to 3mg nowadays with a goal of getting to 0mg soon. I've been off the analogs for 7 months now. But in my case, I think being a bit of a geek helps!
